3rd gen tl crankshaft position sensor connector

I had an issue with my timing belt coming off and breaking off my crankshaft position sensor, it's bracket, and the connector is too broke to fix or be repaired. The crankshaft position sensor connector is the part I'm having issues with because it's been on backorder from acura for 3 weeks now for me and maybe continue to what I'd imagine be maybe 6 months. Anyone have any good ideas on getting that sensor connector?

If the Crank Sensor Sub-Harness you need is part # 37501-RCA-A01, then search car-part.com for a local salvage yard near you.
Look at the 'Vehicle Fitments' for Acura and Honda, below, and get your hands dirty.
There is bound to be one of the cars below that has the harness local to you at a salvage yard.

I had the same thing happen to me. Fortunately the sensor only had cosmetic damage, and I was able to reuse. Other parts at the bottom of the crank pulley, not so much.

This may seem dumb, but I have to ask anyways - are you sure this is the only casualty of the TB breaking? You've ensured that the engine turns over correctly with no (apparent) damage?

It'd suck to go through all the trouble of pulling a sensor off a junk car, if it turns out you coulda used other parts off a junked car as well.

I've found it never hurts to ask around. Call your local Honda dealers, any that you are willing to drive to. You'd be surprised what they sometimes have in stock. I managed to locate that little fragile plate that goes over the crank gear (before the pulley) to keep the tb on the gear, from a honda dealership when my tb failed. The parts guy had no idea what the part was or what it did, but they had a single one in stock.

So with the sensor and harness replaces, now I have an issue with it starting, it takes twice as long to start and it has a rev limiter at 3000 rpm. I was told it needs to relearn instructions either from an acura scanner or manual process. Haven't done either yet but within the rims it runs at, it does perfect.

The attachments are from the 07-08 TL Helms service manual. These should be 'similar' to your model year TL; however, I'm not sure.

Try this process:
1) Disconnect the battery for five minutes, reconnect, start the car and follow the idle relearn procedure attached below.
2) Then take the car out and perform the crank pattern learn (without the HDS) as indicated by the attachment. Hopefully it will clear-up your issues.
3) Make sure you update this thread with whatever results you get.
