Take care,

I've had mine for just over a year. Works fie, except the dings that happen right above the bra coverage line.

They're great......if the material used is of good quality and it's installed correctly.

Find a local installer in your area and talk to them before ordering anything. If you display your whereabouts, I'm sure there are those on here that could recommend someone near you.

There are numerous threads regarding the subject of Paint Protection Film (PPF) or clearbra. You can do a search and you'll find loads of info about it. A lot of the members will swear by it and have often said it was the best investment made for the car. Click here for a review and test of the 3M Protective Film. Here are some links to help you out.

I've been looking at the clear bra but the coverage issue always bothered me. In cars I've had in the past I've always had upper hood damage so I wonder if you can cover the entire hood. I've read of someone doing this before but I don't know if they did a complete one piece coverage or in sections (and I can't seem to find that post anymore). Does anyone know more about this option?

I had asked about this for a couple of my cars. They would have to do it in multiple sections because the roll of the film is only 24 inches wide (varies by the company that makes the film).

Most of the installers do carry bulk film and are able to to a custom job. You will have to ask them for an estimate to do the entire hood. Because it's not precut, trimming will be done on the car. The installer may wrap the film over the edge or go to the edge of the panel. Check this thread, post #11. Frenchnew got his enitre hood done and I don't remember if anyone else did. As I said, your best bet would be to call around your local area and get quotes.

3M comes up to 48 inches. Most smaller installes do not have that though nor they want to mess with such a big piece, since it makes the install harder (to make it spotless).

Good luck, Mark.

Most of the installs can run anywhere from $500-$700 and this is based on what I've read on this site and personal experience. I've also seen quotes up to a grand. In most cases, coverage should include the bumpers, hood, fenders and exterior mirrors. Mark may be able to give more detail about coverage and a ballpark figure on cost. You may also want to contact Rockblocker for the same info. Both these guys are installers as well as forum members and probably be more than happy to assist you.
