3G AT vs 530i AT
A short race, 40-80MPH.
I was behind this 530i for sometime and I had feeling this guy wanted to go.
So I downshifted to 2nd SS and it brought me into 5700-5800RPM.
I was holding there for few seconds and when traffic opened, we floored.
Race was on. 2nd quickly shifted into 3rd and I slowly pulled on him.
By the time I got to 80, I was ahead of his front bumper. So I guess I pulled 2 cars. Not sure if he just floored from D or if he had "manual mode". Anyway, I encountered traffic in my lane(I made lane change during all this) and had to slam on brakes.

I'm guessing it was 2004 or 2005 with 225 horses. Looks like they just dropped in new 255 engine starting 2006 model year. Can't believe that things has been out there that long.
However I haven't had real challenge from the brand new 530i because 9 out of 10 has automatic driven by 40 year+ old.
