3G TL, smoother or rougher than 2G?

first, what 03 TL did you have? Type S or premium?
I had an 03 TL-S and now have a 05. As far as the suspension stiffness, both are very comparable. I have noticed the 05 is noticeably "tighter", in that the frame seems to be stiffer. It rides firmer in the sense that there are less vibrations and less flex in the car. Also, the seat foam seems slightly stiffer. It might be just because the 05 is new and my old car had 30k on the clock.
If you are comparing the new TL to the old premium, non-sport model, it will be stiffer since the new TL is more like the old Type-S.

Noticed the same thing as well...
my 2000 TL had smoother ride than my 05...The 05 definitely feels tighter as you mentioned so you feel the road more while driving...at least IMO...not a complaint by any means for me...

The Type S is as equally stiff as the 04. However, the non-type S models are "softer" than both.
