I was talking to a lady a bit ago and she mentioned her daughter who is about to graduate HS. She really wanted to go to Rice but lady was like, she won't get in, she's only got a 4.2 GPA.

I quite LITERALLY died.

Made me laugh; I didn't realize Rice was so "prestigious". In fact, it'd been years after moving to Houston that I even realized Rice was here.

But I'm just a dummy state schooler.

It's kind of fucked what the world is turning to... It seems there are more and more educated people around making the job market all fucked... My roommate has an undergrad in something business related... He can't find a job anywhere for the life of him. Everyone keeps telling him he either needs more experience (which he can't get cuz no one will hire him), or get more education... So now he needs a master's to do a job someone with just an undergrad was able to do, 10 years ago. Sucks to be him.

I mean, at some point, you can sit down with all your coworkers and everyone is getting paid about the same do to roughly the same things. And some of them spent $<whatever the fuck it costs to get an engineering degree from Stamforb>, and some of them spent $8000 at a state school. Kinda makes you wonder who is the more intelligent one... The one out of debt and banging bitches at the c'cain club in his Ferrari? or the one still eating Ramen 15 years in.

But free ride? Hell's yes. I'd go to Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaavad too. (Not really, because fuck that noise, but it's an illustration of the point).
