Well, just bundle up and everything should be okay. The risks to very cold weather is obviously with frozen doors...but, if one is careful of washing the car around cold snaps (i.e. avoid it), that hopefully doe snot happen. Dead batteries also are problem in the cold.

Otherwise, for the house, the biggest worry is frozen pipes but if the house is well-built and maintained...nothing too problematic...but, sh*t happens.


And thanks about Little Cha...it's good to see him back to his cheerful self.

Because I rent out the basement, I have a separate door into "our" house. Well, the nice thing is that the hinges are facing the outside (remember, this is an interior door), so, I was able to grab some tools from the garage and knock the hinge pins out. The door still doesn't come out easy. Had to pry it in two places to be able to turn it, but I managed to do so with almost zero damage to the paint.

Got in, grabbed my spare keys. Of course the spare fob won't work when the car is running Key won't work in the door lock either so I get the idea to grab Wifey's "heat sack" (). It's essentially a small pillow case filled with wheat grains. Pop it into the microwave for three minutes and it comes out piping hot, lasting hours. Well I heated that up and placed it against the drivers door, near the lock mechanism and latch. Also took wifey's blow dryer. Tagged team dat bitch until the key turned in the lock. Success!!

I then got in and immediately disabled the auto-Lock-door-at-15-km/h function. And no, no CO poisoning/dying. The garage door was open at least 8" above the exhaust pipes, and I park the TL as close to the door as possible, just to give me more work room at the front of the car.

Shit, I need to. My youngest got shots yesterday at 3:30 he knocked out from 4-7 then wanted to stay up hella late. We finally got him down at 11 then he woke up at 3 screaming..
