Get an '04-'12 - your pick of standard or fairings. '03 is doable but was a unique year and isn't 100% inter-compatible with the subsequent years. '99 - '02 was the older carb'd version. Nothing wrong with it but the 2nd Gen is just dead nuts good to go.

Don't bother after '12 when it became the "Gladius". We don't talk about that Suzuki fuckup.

Or a 'busa. That's also a great first bike. Just make sure your flipflops fit right, you don't want them falling off at a buck-eighty.

I looked ever so briefly into doing something similar for an idea I had. Fab/mfg and sale of a small gizmo. From what I found, I would have done a pass through LLC. But my widget didn't really have any inherent liabilities involved (well, reasonably... I'm sure someone would figure out how to sue).

Too bad there isn't someone around here that passed their business degree with flying colors... They'd probably have the right and undisputable answer.
