It's ok. I know nothing about Hondas. Why would you take advice from someone who has never wrenched on a car before and just pays people to do it. I wouldn't.

Dunno why my battery is dead. Shouldn't be the HFL. I replaced it last year. Wifey probably left a light on, looking for something in the car. I dunno, doesn't really matter though. Maybe I left a door open. Who knows. I tried moving the car just the other day and nothing came on. I was like wtf? Meh, I'm sure it's fine.
As for brake line, yes, it blew. Actually, I think it just wore through, but I dunno. Haven't bothered looking into it yet. Bought new lines the other day. Still have to buy fluid today. Will hopefully replace and bleed it tomorrow. I know it's not hard, just haven't had time.

I have no clue what brand it was, but it was a well known one, I can tell you that much. I'm not getting into this whole debate again because the SS fanbois are gonna go bananas again if I say that they can fail. Don't believe me- just google it and see how many hits come up.
I was surprised to see/hear Maj say they're a crock pot of shit also. Nice to get a vote of confidence once a year on here nonetheless, a puncture resulted in the line, near the fitting and that was the end of it.
I will search through my garage this weekend to see if I can find anything regarding the brake lines, with regards to brand. I'm hoping the lines themselves have the brand on them, but we will see.

We had this talk before as you said. Many different brands, different levels of quality, little to no inspection as opposed to track use where inspected before every event -> Failure. It doesn't help that inspection is made more difficult because of the braid, there's cases where the braid itself creates a problem.
I believe Maj was and still is an advocate of OEM brake lines because the issue with most people is not OEM vs aftermarket SS braid but OEM vs old AF OEM about to blow lines. I agree entirely with him on that.
'sides, I was just being not serious with the reliability.

Generally speaking OE lines are more reliable / have better fitment. I'm not sure about oe lines from the TL but I know S2000s have a steel weave under the rubber from the factory. The SS in SS lines doesn't actually do much if anything for performance but for abrasion resistance.
Install can play a big role here too. Don't hang any weight on the lines!
Happy wrenching.

And yes, maybe the previous owner did botch the installation process, just enough to weaken the line. Those lines have been on the car for years. I did replace my rotors and pads earlier this year, but I've always been careful to hang the caliper out of the way and make sure the line isn't twisted, bent, you name it. Did I look for issues at that point? Nope. Maybe I should have. I just checked to see that the caliper pins, etc, were good. My bad.

Most are lined/weaved with something.
Really it's a cost thing. OE rubbers for XX or AM SS for X.

I think all brake lines have a weave through them, under the rubber. I don't think the rubber itself is very conducive to resisting brake line pressure.

I don't know about you guys but anytime I have my wheels off I scrub/clean my brembos & covers, brake lines, and even the yellows and springs.
Never gonna see it? Who cares!

Anyway since you're there, check your old brake lines. rubber mesh then more rubber. It's not like it's a tiny bit of rubber and they just send you on your way anymore.

I've recently decided to go the other direction.
Rather than swap out the OEM rubber brake hoses for SS Braided, I'm replacing all of my hydraulic lines with sheathed cables.
It's gonna be a pain to retrofit, but I figure if it's good enough for my Huffy, it's good enough for my car.
And none of that v-brake stuff either. Side-pull brakes FTW!

The awesome thing about Jagwire is that they come in different colors too!
Red will increase horsepower by 20 (5 hp at each corner )

I was kidding you mother bitches...
my fucking TL, has had annoying issues to fix.
but has never, not once, not even when the o-ring on my slave gave out (3 pump chump it home)...left me stranded.
fuck it, this car, if kept long enough = profit (as Frantz says).

I predict 11 second runs.
unless you're running 87 octane...then 12 seconds.
