Torchy's is okay.. I could have told you some killer secret menu tacos. People really like the trailer park, but it's only okay. They had a roscoe chicken and waffles taco that was legit though (limited time), plus they had this maui miyagi taco that was one of the best fish tacos I've ever had in my life.. not the Mr. Miyagi / Pinks taco they have now. They won't make it anymore.. fuckers.

btw.. flour tortillas are what you eat the majority of torchy's tacos with. Corn is reserved for the more traditional tacos. Most newbs don't know better.. plus when they order with corn, they eat it as one fucking taco. They give you two corn tortillas so you can split the taco.. I mean look at that fucking thing, it's huge (twss).

But I will concede that a fluffy warm flour tortilla fresh off is mighty fine. But not for tacos.

There's a local mini-chain that's been doing something new with their corn tortillas (used to be run of the mill, thin and firm); they come off as these thick, fluffy jobbers with just the right spongy consistency now. Soo soft and soo hot; like a little angel pillow. Perfect for their menudo.

Just like a burger.. the bun to meat / stuffing ratio is more important than people give credit. That's one thing I don't love about hopdoddy's. They often forget that important fact and you're left wanting more bun (B, RIP Pimp C). The tortilla to stuffing ratio needs to be right.

Grandpa did a solo trip with every grandkid before he went fairly suddenly in 2008...I'm VERY glad I made the time for that trip with him.
