thoi, that's great advice. Good point. I used to do 1.25 hours in traffic EACH way in my manual accord. that was brutal, but I got through.

now, no traffic, pretty much...perfect for manual.

yup! When i was shopping around for TL, I considered manuals too.. but at the time I was driving through LA traffic every day for work.. throw in some potholes and overall crappy roads for good measure and I'm damn glad I didn't get a manual. Maybe for a weekend car one day..

For you however, you sort of live in the perfect storm for a sports car: convertible, manual, lowered. (That s2k was perfection for your exact situation)

When that itch finally gets scratched, Go ham bro

started looking at lotus too...so nice, but at 40K I can afford a lightly used GT500, or the CTS-V...or SO many other cars.

back to the drawing board...
I miss the S2000 a lot. If I get another one, I already know which one it'll be. I'd buy it cash, and I'd NOT slam it...I'd keep it trackable...

That's what would kill me in Montreal. The girlfriend doesn't get it. Roads are crappy, traffic everywhere any time of the day, people drive like shit.
Heck I hate driving my AT in the city already, driving a manual would be a pain. no bueno

Every Lotus EliseExige ever is 35K man. Ride comfort is shit, if you're taller than 5'8" you feel cramped, there's 0 refinement about hearing motor drone at all times (right next to your ear!), you can put 2 grocery bags at best, if you crash you die, and abandon all "luxury" that came with the TL, but the thing is so light it's a real blast.

I've seen it. Me thinks he took a fucking SAE socket to a metric car or something. Rounded that bolt waaay past normal corner-cutting rounding lol

Seriously, I'm putting $20 down on this guy killing himself working on his car eventually.

J, I'm glad you crossed the lotus off your list too. Don't get me wrong, they are very cool cars, but I think you'd go nuts with the absolutely cramped and spartan-like interior. It's minimalism at its best and I think it would be a blast on the track, but around the city it'd be shit.

GT 500 gets my vote. Or just a GT (assuming you want to spend less). You'd have a permanent shit eating grin across your face behind the wheel of either!

Did anyone watch that "Need for Speed" movie.. felt like a total Fast and Furious rip off but with some exotic ass cars and sort of poor acting

You're all over the map, man, lol. How much do you really want to spend? There's a big difference between a 40k car and a 15 year old s2000.

The smart thing to do would be to buy that s2000 for cash, as I'm sure it wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg. 6mt? Check. RWD? Check. Open roof? Check. It's minimalistic too, but still has a very nice interior. I love dem seats.

You could go luxury sports (335, M3, S5, CTS-V, etc) but are you willing to spend that much and at the same time lose that much also? The s2000 is so old that it's value won't be plummeting like a newer car. Especially a luxo-sports car.

Or keep it domestic.. Parts are cheap and plentiful. Huge leaps and bounds in terms of handling and overall performance (thinking about the newer mustang here). Used market probably has a shit ton to choose from, depending on model, of course.

The only knock against the s2000 is that you've already had one. And there's so many more cars out there to be had. But I guess if it was love at first sight...

Suckas. Can buy a very nice and slightly used dick rocket Yamaha R6 for less than 5k. Try it. 10/10, would die again.

I'm about to fly to Florida to pick up a bike.

I watched it on a plane too purely for the cars and chick (British accent).

3 Koenigsegg Agera R were cool... and the last race scene had a Veyron, Siesto Elemento, and a few others.

Other than that, the plot was weak, the acting stunk..
