Damn that's pretty good. Used parts I imagine from kijiji? What's the case, psu & mobo?

Problem with kijiji is how flaky people are. Whether you're buying or selling, it's always a nightmare.
Like I sell something, say a brand new in box speaker set worth ~$450 +tx on a good day. Box is freaking sealer. I ask for $300 cash.
People offer me $150 and ask if I deliver.... wtf is wrong with you guys?

Other way around: Message people for some wheels. Ad says "want to sell quick blah blah". They answer each of my call/txt/email 20 hours after... wtf people again!

Good deals can be had, but sometimes it's seems like it's just too much of a hassle.

Definitely know the struggle. Lowballing assholes on Kijiji are pretty much a fact of life - I'll put 400$ FIRM, two minutes later "ey bro, give you 200$ cash. i live in middle of buttfucksville. Please deliver tonight"

MiniBox case with 120 watt PicoPsu, ASUS H87I-Plus, i3-4160, and 8gbs of some no-name brand 1600mhz ram I had kicking around. Should be a fun little HTPC box. Going to set it up so I can remote control it with my phone

EDIT: Oh and a cheapass DLink N wifi stick someone was selling for 15 bucks.

Hey whatever works, it's a small HTPC not meant to send peeps to the moon.

I'm thinking of doing something similar for my main computer. I don't game on PC anymore (I know I know PC master race) so all I use it for is YouTube, Acurazine, some movies, downloading of things and yadda yadda. Those things I can all do on my Android phone so I def don't need a monster build... Something tiny like a Gamecube and near silent would be nice. =)

This thing is smaller than a game cube. No lie. The case is so small its lol-worthy - throw in a good low profile CPU cooler and an SSD (which is what I'm doing) and you'll never hear it or see it. Hell, you could probably power an i5 with the right PicoPSU and have more than enough power for just about anything. Only issue at that point in my mind becomes thermals.

That's always the issue with HTPC. Want something powerful enough but that won't burn up or make a lot of noise. It's finding the right balance of everything that is fun.

I'd imagine video playback won't task an i3 much. In fact the fully fledged i3 might actually be overkill here - I could have went with one of the underclocked T models and still been fine I think. I just had an awful experience with an Intel Atom based system at work and swore I would never do an underpowered build for myself. Lets just say it was more sluggish than a damn Pentium 4.

Atoms aren't my thing either. i3 is good stuff though.

Hm. Don't want to run 65% Type F & D4 because in winter this might be annoying. Only other person I know who runs it is Swoosh and I'm pretty sure he got some slights issues in winter too and he's in Kansas so it def doesn't get "as cold".

I think the Amsoil alternative was the right viscosity unlike the Redline stuff? I might attempt the mix of the 3, but in all honesty I'm probably going to run the 65% and call it a day for now - If I run into issues, I run into issues

You're only going to run into issues in winter, summer is going to be haha. Don't really feel like going back to meh shifts in winter when in summer all is nice.

I think it was a matter of people describing the tranny as being a little sluggish until it warmed up, even in more extreme cold. At least that's what I remember reading in that thread. Nothing about shift issues

That's shifting issues for me. Sludgebox extraordinaire in winter = meh. My drive to work is so small it'd be a shame to have this happen every day, twice a day. No joy.

I'm getting like $112 tax return. Woohoo party hard.

The year before last year I never got a return, always had to pay. Last year I got $300, this year $112. Not even complaining.

That plus a power resistor and a sprint booster will get you the added power and economy. It's win win. I really love how some of these kits are really separating cholorine from sodium. Hydrogen isn't yellow in color.

I'm not saying hydrogen doesn't have application. But to properly separate hydrogen from water and utilize it in large enough amounts to propel your vehicle during the normal combustion cycle and thus reducing your fuel consumption is not possible with a simple electrolysis unit. It takes more power to create power, can't get something for nothing. And if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, OP is a fag.

Now.. harvesting, compressing, and storing ahead of intended use period. Then using it with an expansion valve with a controller to linearly deliver hydrogen fuel into the combustion cycle is something to consider. That's evolving science though.. not cheap for a hobbyist (electroysis unit, tanks, hydrogen compressor, car kit), but has real application.

Early on I got into water injection (not meth+water, straight water). It has real application as well, but not for amateurs. You'll lock your engine.

I've found that mixing a 50/50 of vegetable and canola oil works great! Nice smooth shifts all the time.

Fuck what a dilemma. Get bumper plugs + a bag of dicks or not get anything.

It's weird, some guy was talking about doing another glitter by mail shit last week and I kept telling him it wouldn't work cause it's already been done, plus I'd rather make people eat a bag of dicks instead. Guess that's been done too.
