Work diarrhea is the worst

In other news, think I've figured out my next wheel setup and whats happening next with the TL

Big thank you to thoi for attempting to help my hapless ass with the htpc case issue. I think I've found a sweet solution that's going to be ultra portable yet still more than powerful enough for just about any kind of media playback. I've been doing big tower builds for so long that going small is actually super refreshing - Might make my next primary rig a mini-itx water-cooled build

Dropped my phone in the toilet.
Luckily, it still works except for the speakers. Guess I'll be getting a new phone soon. It's about time anyway since I'm still working with the iPhone 4s. I've never understood the hype about having the newest/latest phone. I mean, why get a new phone when the one you have works perfectly fine? But, now I have an excuse to get a new one.

You're not alone in this train of thought my friend - I'm perfectly happy with my Galaxy S4, and people keep asking me when I'm upgrading. I tell them "Hopefully? Never."

we had 61mph winds and up to 4 inches of rain last night.
fucking crazy.

reminded me of Ike, with no power for half the night.

Ike, we stayed without power for 12 days.

Did that turn into a 12 day vacation, or did you still have to go to work?

12 day vacation; although it was anything but.

taking showers in the dark was horrible.
no refrigeration, no A/C. (it was sept 11th and as you know the coast is HUMID AS FUCK!)

street signals did not work, confusing as fuck trying to navigate without redlights.

I'm in the same boat as you, man. I very rarely download apps on my phone or iPad. Honestly, I just use it for work emails and surfing the net, at the most. I have the odd game, but all games seem the same- pay now to get one level ahead! Fuck that shit. I seem to get bored of them after level 2 anyway, lol.

I don't upgrade every year because of my contract. But I upgrade every 2 years because I can sell my old iPhone for the price of a new one at contract renewal price.

Sometimes I'll even have extra money too!

That was just an utter fail in itself. Still rather the Oilers than the Sabres

But no I was referring to the Jets being utterly robbed of that game

Blatant too many men, blatant hooking, nope, no call. Refs totally aren't biased against Canadian teams, totally. Yup. Nothing to see here

Try 2 months no power no water no phone. House would get 120F at night @ 70-100% humidity and turn into fucking cockroach and snake city because no light to scare them away.

Huge lines for gas and ice. It was crazy, but they were good times. We'd fill the tubs full of water before the storm and have rain barrels so we could flush the toilet. Of course it would be like one flush a day to preserve water.

Would smell like a port a potty until the morning lol. I'd also wash clothes in a bin and hang them. Ever wash a load of clothes by hand? I had Popeye forearms after 2 months. lol.

We probably could have bought a 10k or at least a 5k gen to keep the fridge going and some other conveniences butt fuck that.

We would throw bbqs in front of the house and eat with the neighbors, it was great. We really became a village in those times.

You rise and set with the sun. We had candles, gas lights, and flashlights, but no reason to stay up late. Life is different, butt not necessarily bad. Luckily we had consistent rain.

Some people did that shit for 2 months during the winter of 98 when we had the crazy freezing rain storm. I was lucky enough to not have power only for 3 days.

Surprisingly, everything is still working except the speakers won't play my music. And, the auxiliary doesn't work. Music plays with Bluetooth though. I guess that's not too bad after being submerged in the toilet. I consider myself lucky. I'm trying to hold out until September when the iPhone 6s or 7, whatever they decide to label it, comes out.

Andrew and Katrina were fucked up because there wasn't a sustaining infrastructure to survive the worst of it. I've been through more powerful storms at their peaks than what hit the mainland (+230 mph gusts). I've also been through an 8.1, 7.2 and 7.0 earthquake, plus a slew of 6's. Not a lot of damage though, which would surprise most people to hear. During the roughest storm, I saw our neighbor's car flip and then get carried away (same storm picked up a semi container and hurled it across 2 miles of ocean, smashing it into the sea wall). Houses were fine though.

Morning guys, TGIM?

I think I've almost got my plans for big power down and will soon start amassing parts

Also J, the long and arduous process of saving for a set of Advans has begun lol. Although I'm not entirely sold on them being cast versus getting something forged for 500$ - 600$ more...

Also Saturday I witnessed some gnarly public defecation :poo:

That's probably the biggest thing. Not being prepared is what really kills.

On a completely different topic, has anyone lost traction on the back wheels in the TL on a pretty stock config (stock suspension, rsb, only the wheels changed)? I did yesterday, didn't expect that for shit. Got that little :| face moment where you're in-between having fun and thinking you might just hit a wall.
3rd gear ~3500 rpm in an interstate exchange left turn, going down pretty steeply, hit the throttle and felt the understeer, corrected a bit and I think the front tires gripped and swung the back out a bit. Maybe too many Gs.
