Yeah my suspension and direction stuff look surprisingly good for a Canadian car, but I haven't tried unbolting anything yet either.

Yeah part of me regrets going with the Tein SA because its a little limited in the adjustability department, but I think 16 way dampening is enough for my needs and I like the spring rate of the Teins thus far. Also I'm not sure if the Type S top-hats made any difference, but those are in there as well for what its worth. With the FSB swap and Compliance bearings she'll drive as well if not better than any Type S I think

This is where I realized how lucky I was that I took it to a shop. Considering my whole left front shock fork seized with the stock shock still in there ... fuck Canadian climate

Are the Type-S top hats any different? Also where did you get the Moog endlinks? Thinking the stock ones might disintegrate if I end up switching the RSB, so if they're not stupid expensive I might replace them.

He's exaggerating. You just need to spray them with a ton of WD40/PB Blaster, wait a day, spray again, wait a day, spray again, wait a day, then do the job.

Moog endlinks are available on amazon.ca:
Moog K90343 Sway Bar Link Kit: Amazon.ca: Automotive Moog K90343 Sway Bar Link Kit: Amazon.ca: Automotive
(also K90342 is the other one I believe). I got them stateside on ebay though

The Type S top hats actually use a hybrid bushing design, and are apparently a fair bit stiffer than regular TL top hats.

Oh wow, $50 for both. I'd probably end up changing the stock ones at that price. Also those are greasable without removing them??

Edit: Haven't looked at the Type-S top hats vs TL top hats, so I was simply asking if they were actually a different design.

Pretty sure they are greasable without removal, if I remember correctly, the shop owner actually mentioned that when we were talking about the endlinks!

Everyone talking about aftermarket coils, I honestly would be happy with just A Spec MT suspension in my car. I did the whole coil set up in my old car and hated the incredibly shitty ride quality . Never again... Progress RSB, Moog Endlinks with stock suspension right now and the car feels damn planted in the rear.. I think my front compliance bushings are shot though... it feels a bit squirrely in the front...

Also got some cuppping of tires a while back.. Usually that's attributed to worn shocks right? I thought it was due to a bad alignment at first but would love your guys' input. Maybe I need to get the ASpec suspension sooner rather than later

Because they're thicker than OEM IIRC and higher quality too (greasable!). For $50 for both it's almost a no brainer.

If you're going to lower a lot, whether coils or bag, I imagine you have to be ready to sacrifice some amount of comfort. Either that or get bouncy, which is the opposite of what you want to achieve.
The road quality here is one of the main reason I wouldn't run a DD too low. I'll just end up hating feeling every crack in the asphalt.

For the cupping it can be a lot of things.Bearings bushings ball joint shock you name it. Pretty much inspect suspension and direction components and repair what's worn or bent.

Been meaning to thank you again, Anil. Been using your jack stands all the time lately as I now put the car on all 4 when I work on or under it.

Thanks again, man.

No sir...always used 2 and jacks...but it's great...didn't know it was okay to jack up on the sides quickly, then put the stands under the reinforced side points to easily get hte car up all the way off ground. Best sh*t ever

Personally I never found that to be super safe with DIYer jack stands (because the base is rarely wide enough), if there's lateral force being applied to the car it would fall of the jack stands and mess up my pretty face. And I'm a chicken shit and don't want that to happen.

I use ramps + jack stands and on cars that are too low to get on the ramps I jack it up, put the ramps under as if they were stands, then jack the other side and put them on actual stands. The only downside to this is the lack of vertical adjustment of ramps, but it's moot point considering you usually want both sides of the car to be at the same height when jacking it completely.

I'm most comfortable on my knees and on my back.

I actually don't mind exhaust work...got fan going under car and listening to toons...take my time...

Back when I had the RSX there was a local girl that had a bf working on her RSX one night late. Came out in the morning and found him dead under the car. That snapped me back to reality to stop taking stupid risks. Can you imagine that feeling...drowning, but your loved one on the other side of the garage door. Fkkkk

So much for keeping the fenders pristine because "they were in great condition" (or did you use the term 'virgen')

If not fell off jack, the jack just failed in itself.

I used to do oil changes with the car just on the jack... then my friend told me one of jacks failed on him once and thankfully he had just gotten out from under it a few seconds ago..

Never again trusting any jack on its own, even my Arcan XL35R

Cinder blocks to put under the car.

But yeah, for me it's ramps on the front + jack stands in the back + jack still in place. If any 1 part fails at least I ain't getting squished like a Go-Gurt.
