Got 70-something once on an English/Language-Arts essay on the analysis of some English Lit book in Grade 10. I got beat for it. Didn't get dinner...and my Mom proceeded to march me to the University's arts library the following weekend and got me to borrow all the analysis books (cuz, she's a Prof) on the next novel we were to study and had me read each one and take down notes.

Watching "FoB" on TV is like reliving my childhood.

My Dad was not as nice as the one on the show though. If my Mom was the Tiger, he was the Dragon.

No, I was lucky enough to be privileged. My mom took the time to teach me a lot of things prior to me being in school, I was always in advance compared to other kids. Uncle started me with some English he knew back then. Started doing a friend sister algebra when I was in 4th grade before knowing it was actually algebra. Started coding BASIC around that age too on a kids laptop (VTECH kicked in, yo). Loved learning, still do!

I'm sure a lot of people could do as much if they had the help. Not everybody was as lucky as I was.

The thing that grinds my gears the most is his car was actually pretty damn nice...I actually really liked a lot of his mods and was looking to do some similar ones. Too bad the owner was a complete scumbag..

I agree to that. Car was clean. If the 6MT worked nicely it would have been good for the next owner... or himself.

the car looked nice...had the whole monochromatic theme going haha...yeah, some guys just need to grow up and look at the bigger picture....

there is absolutely no point selling someone a messed up car hoping the buyer would pick up the tab for what happened to you...only if they put all that energy in the right direction...

Hey if he can sell his car disclosing the issues, then good for him. It's when he tried to pass it off like it had nothing that it went sour.

it has to come clean for both...as a seller, I dont want to deal with issues post the sale, and as a buyer, I dont want to deal with issues post the sale

Wish people would just be honest about things...now if things get left out or were "accidental" or "assumed" then I can agree to some extent that something can be worked out post sale...but something like a fucked up transmission which was fixed by a hack job definitely does not come under that...

PB, I honestly think the Progress bar is just fine on the auto. I'm really enjoying the ridiculously flat cornering with the coil and swaybar install. I should probably cool it down on the off ramps lol...

Meh. Progress RSB without a better FSB is asking for 1 wheel to leave the ground or for oversteer. Plus I'm looking to cut costs, Progress RSB is over my budget. Type-S RSB would fit the need and the bill fine... for now.

Are you set on the hardest setting on the Progress RSB?

Edit: Oh and I'm on a stock suspension, so that's that to consider. If I was on coils I could lower it and it probably wouldn't be such an issue.

You're right - with it being as low as it is (2 and a half inch drop, maxed out in the rear right now), I probably don't feel the oversteer, although I've noticed it somewhat when taking corners very hard. I am on the stiffest setting and I'm absolutely loving it so far - I do have the front Type S bar already sitting here, just need to find the time and/or money to get it installed

As much as I'd like to handle like a racecar, I'm not willing to drop ride quality in the TL by getting lowered 2.5" and getting the progress RSB on the stiffest setting. Not that I plan on spending this much on the car anyway. I still consider Quebec roads to be too shitty to enjoy a harsh ride. On a good glass like tarmac it would be fun though!

Also if you got the RSB, coils and other mods installed definitely get the FSB installed since you need to drop the subframe and get an alignment done anyway. RSB takes 30 minutes from eye'ing the job, 15 or which are jacking the car and shooting the bolts with WD40 then waiting. FSB without a lift & hoist probably takes a few hours of working on your back.

That's why you need a RWD car Justin, then you can just mash the throttle instead. More throttle is better than less throttle!

Ride itself is actually very very manageable - at 8 from stiff in the back and 6 from stiff in the front it rides just a tad bit harsher than stock - my dad and mom both rode in it today and both commented that it didn't really feel any more harsh than it did stock.

Maybe my stock suspension was completely shot and I don't have a fair reference point? lol

I think its very drive-able. The drop is a little much probably, but truth be told I now want to go even lower in the front to get a more aggressive rake

Maybe. Had beaters with shot suspensions on low profile tires before, fuck it was annoying. clunk clunk clunk clunk.

My stock suspension is doing good so far, no leakage or anything (don't wanna jinx it!) so ideally I'm not going to swap it out. Like I said before, springs to drop it ~1.25" is prob what I'll end up doing.

Anyway, the body roll is annoying me lately because of the summer. Taking curves faster makes you notice how much of a boat the AT TL is in its stock configuration. Not as terrible as many other cars, but not firmly planted either.

More than the progress RSB, look into swapping out the crappy rear endlinks for Moog endlinks...the difference was awesome...the car feels more planted...

I have 5AT, progress RSB and moog endlinks, ISC coils...so got Type S FSB sitting in the garage eating dust, awaiting install...

Its funny because the body roll was definitely an oddity in an otherwise very well handling car - With it lowered and the bar, it still feels like the same car, but just ridiculously dialed in. Honestly, in the scope of everything, I can definitely see why people say the suspension upgrades are a must before any power adders. I'm enjoying driving it so much more right now

Already in

Did Moog endlinks when I was putting in the Progress bar because the stock endlinks on Canadian cars usually need to be cut off to even get a new bar on

So I have Tein SAs, Moog Endlinks, Progress bar. Only real important parts to go suspension wise for me are the compliance bearings up front and all new toe arms in the rear so I can actually do a proper alignment. Damn toe bolts seized

^^^ nod...I think a good set of suspension really helps to dial this car in...I absolutely love driving it...

I had the tein basics and it was only lowered, with the ISC, when you dial in preload, adjust dampening, it handles like a totally different car...
