An all new engine and maybe an 06 or 07 accord tranny and I could see myself keeping her for a long long time...

Far from what I was able to get here. Lowest interesting 6MT was 170k, $9500 and front bumper had been changed (no Acura logo) because of a "fender bender" and was slightly misaligned. Had a bearing to change and a few other things like paint chipping here and there. Irony that it wasn't fixed since the guy had a body shop. It was silver too, which wasn't my first choice. Wanted either blue or black. Also needed winter tires + summer tires... Was Navi though.
Add to that the fact it was a 2006 thus I needed to pay taxes on the value in the book for the plates (while a 2004 being 10+ years old you pay taxes on what the seller sold it to you AKA 1$) and it turned out to be more expensive for little gain in my book. It sounds silly, but when you do 15000km a year, 30000km difference (NBP I got had 138K paid $8600) is two years...
Price difference in the end would have been easily $2K. Guy wouldn't budge from his price so I just walked away. Took him another 3 months to sell, kept seeing it on Kijiji.
I don't really have plans to touch the car mechanically, although I'd enjoy a throatier sound from the exhaust. The TL is a very discrete V6, even at WOT.

Yeah when I was buying mine in November there just weren't any decent mileage 6MTs to be had. now there are a few but they're all 04s.
I would leave the car stock but... just not my nature. I start tinkering and upgrading and just don't really stop. Same problem I had with recording gear and same problem I perpetually have with my gaming rig at home.
We'll see - right now I'm waiting for Bruce to finish up the exhaust and I'm going to have all the basic bolt ons ready to go. Gotta remember to do a dyno before and after too

I'm scared I'll get the upgrade bug... I'm pretty sure I'll be fine though, I'll stick to cheap mods.

Gary, fuck owning a GT-R.. get a V. I got sideways with TC on.. it was righteous in an ungodly way. If I find a parking lot the size of a football field.. without light posts and curbs (justn).. I might turn TC off.

Talking about bath salts.. some college kids and their dog got effed up here over the weekend on K2.
You guys hear about the pesticide case in the VI that has a family in critical. They rented some villa that's probably 1k/night only to come in contact with some effed up chemicals that put them in a coma. Fuck that noise.. pesticide contractor is Terminix.

Watched the Justin Beaver roast last night. Martha had me ...actually, overall, there were some pretty nice burns.
