This working on Sundays thing sucks sometimes. I can't complain too much though because I have Fridays and Saturdays off. If anyone wonders what I do that would justify working on a Sunday, I drive an 18 wheeler pulling a tanker trailer in the oilfield hauling oil and chemicals.

Doesn't sound that bad, Sunday people are dredding the weekend is over and you are basically starting your work week.. And being off Friday and Saturday seems nice..

I do enjoy Fridays off. Especially every other Friday being payday. I quit college after a year and started bartending. At 25 after doing that for about 5 years, I decided I needed another career, so I got my CDL license. Anyway, enough of my biography for one day.. Lol!

Hope you folks are having a nice weekend so far.
I just finished shoveling snow from my driveway and sidewalk.

Off topic - I'm a Jets fan (please, hold your laughter). I've been a Jet fan since I was 9. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST TANK A FUCKING SEASON??? They're 1-8 this year, and they are owning the Steelers right now. So barring a comeback, they'll be 2-8 after today. There's three teams that are as bad as us. Tampa (1-7), Jacksonville (1-7), Oakland (0-8). At this point, I just want to finish the season at 1-15, fire the coaching staff (and the worthless GM), and secure a top 4 draft pick. But after seeing this game today, I won't be surprised if they go on a tear the rest of the year, finish 7-9, and fuck themselves out of a decent pick
/vent
But I thought this was funny:

But I thought this was funny:
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- For the second time in five days, a disgruntled New York Jets fan took to the sky to express disappointment with the current state of the team.
About two hours before kickoff Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a plane circled the stadium carrying a banner that read: "Jets Rebuilding Since 1969."
Technically, that's not correct. It was the 1968 team that won the Super Bowl, which was played in January 1969. But we're being picky. The point is, the fan base is upset with the franchise, which began Sunday one win shy of the team record for most consecutive losses in a season -- nine.
As far as we could tell, there wasn't a "Fire John Idzik" banner in the area. That, of course, made news last Wednesday, when it circled the Jets' practice field for 20 minutes, stunning and angering team officials.

FWIW, I did that for a spell when I was in a full-systems implementation a couple years back...it's not as great as it sounds. On the Friday, you are absolutely beat and exhausted...it was pretty much a write-off day.
Mind you, this was out in the private sector...probably way different if in a government setting.

I work 5 12's. 6 am.-6 pm. Sun-Thurs.
I watch college ball more than NFL. My team (Auburn) blew it yesterday! 7-2 now. No chance of making it to the championship now!

Well, spent a lovely weekend in Jasper with the wifey. Did some hardcore hiking, drinking beers in the hot tub outside, spa day at the Fairmont Jasper Lodge (super nice!!!). Also had some tasty food for dinner- medium rare elk steak and medium roasted duck. Mmmm....
Wanted to do some sight seeing at the Columbia ice fields today, but the highway conditions got really bad. Some white out conditions
started and the highway wasn't plowed. The speed limit was 90km/h on the way to the ice fields and I was shitting bricks driving 70km/h on snow tires. Ended up eventually turning around and now we're driving home.

My job entails minor physical labor. Not bad at all.. Just a lot of driving. But, I like to drive. And, the oilfield pays pretty decent I guess.

It was really nice. We spoiled ourselves a bit- we haven't gone anywhere in a bit and we can't leave the country until March (long story, and no, nothing bad, lol), so we figured we would have a good time this weekend. The best part is that we both don't go back to work until Wednesday

Looks and sounds like a fun weekend Taco!
Yea, my last job was 80% physical labor (installing rack mount servers, mostly). A 55hr week was considered slow. I left that company April 30, 2013, and did not have a single day off from mid February until then. That was tough, but I had two and a half weeks off before starting the next job.
I like working, but only when I feel like my time is used wisely. I spend most of my day at my current job browsing forums; I can do that from the comfort of my home, and I don't have to wake up early for it

What a great weekend. I thought about taking today off seeing that I have off tomorrow, but I'm at work. No matter. I'll take my wife to lunch tomorrow to thank her for her service.

Thanks for sharing, Tacos...looks scary as sh*t to drive on, good call turning around!
Jamie, you work for Halliburton? We have a friend and forum member that does stuff out in the fields...although he works out of New Mexico.

Good pix from the weekend, Taco!
Summit Point was a blast, and pushing my 128i around on too-tall-of-sidewall tires was equally amusing. Once you got past the massive body roll (oh yeah, front shocks are blown, oops) the car actually will take a set and let you scrabble around whatever turn as you crest 7k rpm.
I won my Time Trial class for the season, so that was pretty neat.
My parents came out and Dad got a few rides while they were there... got him in an instructor-friend's C6 Z06 'Vette, and a Lotus Super7. They've been coming out to Summit for years, but I never thought when I told him to "just pick a car in DE 4" he'd hop in that. Go Dad.
And of course, I came home to this beauty in Ryan's backyard:
No no, not the TL.
The seats are covered in "hurricane" cloth:
This car is insanely clean for being 20 years old with 140+k miles. There's an oil leak from the front somewhere, and the Check Control is bitching about a few bulbs being out when in fact they aren't, but otherwise it seems pretty solid. Visibility is excellent and makes me miss older cars...
And the whole "3.8-with-ITBs-and-exhaust" part is alright, too

No. The company I work for isn't anywhere near the size of Halliburton. But, we do occasionally pick up drilling mud from the Shreveport location of Halliburton and haul it to oil rigs.

Brake, that BMW is in excellent condition for its age! I'd love to have a BMW but, I know the expenses that would come with it as far as maintenance and parts. Btw, congrats on the time trial!

Yeah, driving this one makes me miss my E34 and long for an M5... but these motors are super finicky, and then you add in the "it's an oldass car" thing to the mix. Not the most DD-friendly option... and definitely not if you aren't willing to do all the work yourself. A shop will ruin you.
Good weekends, erryone?
