Safety Car
What's the name of that documentary? I'll put it in the queue.
I agree with Justn though. MH370 is somewhere under water and who knows if we'll ever find out what really happened.

Justin, I have been watching Ancient Aliens and they had a detailed episode on Bermuda triangle and the Dead zone in Mexico....its definitely weird stuff...
about MH370, I have a bad feeling that the officials know more than they are letting on
Maj, a friend is looking in to a 2006 M5...i remember you mentioning they had some (or many) issues...you know what issues they were suffering from?

i learned that this passage called the gulf straight has carved a canyon or a valley very deep on the florida side.
this valley carries water VERY fast and is likely for rough waters near florida.
then you have the island of bermuda blocking wind and forming waves.
anything in the middle of these two will get fucked up!!

any because many currents meet there, if something tanks, you cant find it because it will probably be like milesss away coz of those currents
what they cant explain is how the area is generating A LOT of electromagnet anomalies

Yeah, but I grew up in a house with a sister and mom...I don't call it bossy. I just call it life around a woman.

J, tell your friend if he's interested in buying the M5, double the purchase price and ask if he's still interested. If so, do it.

$25k M5 is really a $50k M5

Yeah, no go Anil. Look up issues with SMG, about as common as 3G TL auto issues, but wayyyyy more expensive (7-10k). Then look up issues with Vanos oil pump.. goes out, pop pop pop.. new engine ($25k). Oh.. you want to fix it instead.. special honing tool ($15k) + machine heads ($?) + parts ($20k).
I've only heard of one guy actually fixing it, and that's because his shop repairs bimmers. There have been a couple of guys that actually detected oil pump failing before critical engine failure but not many. Most guys lose valves by the time they find out.
Their V10 is spectacular. They could have kept that engine in, refined it, made it bulletproof and enthusiast would have bought that powerplant in any form for many years. It's a shame.

Honestly, if he's a gear head.. I say go for it. It's still in my wishlist, but need to figure out a workaround on that oil pump. fuck.

A long time ago I almost bought a pre-owned E39 540i 6-speed w/97k miles but was afraid of maintenance costs. Closest to owning an M5 I'll probably ever get

I've always wanted one too...that E46 M3 my buddy was selling...he's an engineer and does all the work himself and gets parts at cost and even HE got tired of the constant headache. I learned through him...he swayed me from buying it off him.

Well, for the most part ***knock on wood*** the things that suck about the TL's don't leave us stranded. That much I'm grateful for....I was thinking about that the other day, I am driving 2 10 year old Hondas that both have a reputation for being extremely reliable. Made me proud in my head

no doubt man...honestly, first sign of weak start and I change my battery though...generally every 2 years. I'm crazy like that.

nah, we never shot it, just wanted to give the effect of us launching it over a rise and down a hill.
It literally flew.. and drove away. It got smashed twice and still drove. Nice insurance check each time.
Buddy eventually sold it, smashed and all, and bought an integra from his friend for $1k. Saturn was pretty ugly, but was a great car and hopefully still alive. MT of course.
