3G Differential Fluid Change DIY
Hello I cant seem to find any references to a differential oil change for the 3G. How often should this be done and does this 1G DIY apply to the 3G

Well...we do have diffs....they are just internal to the main transmission housing sharing the main fluid no matter if auto or MT.
The Acura 6MT gearboxes have LS differentials that share the case fluid. Interestingly, the same year Honda transmissions do not have them in their 6MT.

did you mean to say they don't have limited slip differentials? agree, but there are differentials in all cars with four wheels (excepting things like purpose modified drag or drift cars that have had the diff. welded or replaced with a spool)

oh yes, the first gen TL. Those were a bit of an oddity in the world of drive line layout. there was a separate differential case beside the oil pan that was fed power from the side of a longitudinally mounted transmission behind the engine. Stranger still is the larger RL from that era that had the differential IN the oil pan of a longitudinal engine with CV axles extending from each side.

I'm clarifying the differential that does require fluid change on our cars, which is the limited slip differential in the manual gearbox. In case someone comes across this thread, they won't waste time with their automatics thinking it needs some special differential treatment. Carry on being captain obvious.
AUTOs have open differentials in most. Meaning one wheel with the least traction spins, all the time.

It's quite different, if you ever changed the fluids yourself or maybe you just drop it off to the mechanic. They're not even the same fluid. What's next, 87 gas is fine too? It works right.
