I'm also selling the car because my wife doesn't want to learn to drive a manual, and we need to be able to drive each others cars. Anyone interested in buying my car or trading?
I'm down to trade for a 6speed...

Have you had any major problems with it in those 200k?If so when?

I had an o2 sensor fail at 132k,aside from that just the usual maintenance.
The car has been great. I have done all the maintenance myself with the exception of the timing belt.

I definitely don't have the highest, but I bought my 07 TL-S in May 2011 with 89k and it has just over 101k now. 12k in a year and a half, most of them joy rides

So basically with the thread it's safe to say the TL-s can handle 100k miles no problem!

Glad to see some of these cars going well over 100k.

Any service work in particular you guys are doing to keep them in shape? Ball Joints? Bushings, things like this? How about mounts?

I'm on my 3rd timing belt, had a new radiator put in, new windshield, new timing belt tensioner at around 260k, regular maintenance like oil changes, brakes, drain and fills but no major issues with this car to speak of.

The only two problems that I've ever had is an issue a year back when the car alarm would go off on rainy days but that was resolved by replacing a hfl module. Also the second issue is just my personal opinion, I feel that the interior quality could be better. I've got a lot of miles and use but coming from a Lexus, the fit and finish could use some improvement.

I've also got an 06 Acura RL with 266,000 miles

Issues: tire pressure sensor replaced, many rattles in the trunk, one in the dash, navigation disc drive in the trunk got replaced, voice command & bluetooth doesn't work. Just did normal maintenance - have had the car almost 3 years, went through a set of tires, spark plugs, timing belt package, a couple recalls performed, oil changes done with the MID, air filter, on my second pair of brake pads, transmission fluid changed with OEM Acura fluid 3 times, and have replaced the rotors (all four) once.

Ruby , i feel your pain on the brake pads issue. The fronts are usually done in 25k.

Legitka9,why replace the radiator? Was it leaking?
Lexus is definitely kicking our ass in many fields including interior quality.

Yes the radiator started leaking a little bit so I had it changed. No big issues though. When the timing belt tensioner went out, it sounded like I had a rod knock. I knew the j series was bulletproof! Funny thing was that the tensioner gave out 500 miles after my 3rd timing belt job so it went back to Acura 3 days later!

That right there is why when that maintenance is done I always to TB, WP, Tensioner. Same with clutch master or slave. If one goes out, I always do both. Your already there (especially if your paying for labor) and the part itself was less than $100.

Sorry to hear that happened so quickly to you.

Try changing the 3rd and 4th gear switches with your next 1x3. After changing my switches and a series of 1x3's mine shifts very clean.

For those of you with tl-s (automatic) worried about transmission issues, not to worry. Those trans are different from the base models,to date not a single auto tl-s trans has gone bad.Change the fluid every 30k and your golden.

antlive ,dam you make mine look like it has low miles. How do you guys manage to rack up so many miles?
I personaly commute 55 miles daily,5 days a week plus weekend fun.

You sure about that Sparky? The parts list for the TypeS and Base are the same for the the auto transmission.

Feel free to search the other components.

I could be wrong....it's happened before....but I think they are the same.

The oem Honda ATF-Z1 and DW-1 were both manufactured by idemitsu lubricants and in their spec sheets it shows the viscosity of the fluids with the DW-1 being much thinner than the original Z1 that came in our cars new. In a nutshell, it's like running 0w20 engine oil on a car that is meant to run 10w30 from the factory. Yes it will work but for how long? I use an ATF that is very similar in spec to the Z1 and that is the Eneos ECO ATF. Honda switched from z1 to dw1 for improvements in fuel economy on the latest vehicles. Yes they say that dw1 will work in vehicles that came with z1 but not vice versa.

If the vehicle is 09 or newer dw1 is required and z1 is said to not be compatible. Strange thing is that in the owners manual of 09+ vehicles it still says that if dw1 is not available standard ATF may be used.

I have done a few dw1 drain and fills but never again.

Lets not turn this into an ATF thread. Sorry guys.

Carry on with the high mileage UA7's!

I have a very close friend who is the head service advisor for one of the only Acura dealers in my state, and he personally told me that he has never seen an 07-08 TL Type S transmission go bad. I replace my fluid with OEM Acura fluid every 30-40k or so and I've had no problems. I trust him and my car hasn't blown up yet.
