3D Nav view? Legalese bypass?

I could swear I read somewhere that the TL Nav has a new 3D view with three selectable points of view. Be damned if I can find it. Am I crazy? Also, anyone know if there is a way to bypass the legalese delya at every startup? I've heard that there are sometimes backdoors you can program with a series of keystokes to bypass these type of features on som Nav units. Thanks.

legalese

Doesn't matter if you could bypass it, it's still booting up so you won't get anything anyway.

I think the 3d view is the side window that you can have come up near each exit that shows you which way to exit, but it's not the birds-eye view that Nissan has.

Enjoy

I think it is Lexus that introduced the 3-d/bird's eye view this year.

Nissan has had it for years.

My Father has it on his Cadillac. I like it better than the plan view for some things. I wish I could remember where I read that the TL would have it, otherwise I don't have much a beef with Acura.

Here's a link to a reference for the 3-D view:

http://www.canadianautoreview.com/2004_acura_tl.htm

Split-screen mode features a simultaneous "map view" and selective "3-D" route visualization

Finally figured out where I got it:

http://www.acura.com/models/model_sp....asp?module=tl

On that page is a link to a "Navigation Quicktime Demo". The demo covers the TSX, MDX, RL and the "TL/CL". It clearly is referring to the old TL without voice navigation. So, I listened more to the description of the TSX/MDX/RL part which covered the Voice Nav, and clearly stated that there is a moving map with a 3-D birds eye view. I just assumed the TL would have the same. Guess not.

at http://www.acura.com/models/model_co...asp?module=tl#

"The vivid 8" color touch-control screen can display a moving map that appears three-dimensional, as if seen at an angle from the air. You can zoom in and out, and view two fields in split-screen. The system will display direction arrows, detailed street names, turning instructions and driving distances."

AHA! I knew I read it somewhere. Now if I could just figure out how to do that! Somehow, I don't think they implemented this feature. I wonder what recourse I have with Acura?

Hi
Is there anyone who can tell us how to see the angled view or to state that it isn't there?
Currently I drive an Inifinti QX4 with navagation and the "birds eye view"is great.
I plan on getting a 2004 TL sometime in late December.
Thanks
AL
