Different strokes. I had 20% on my old car. Had trouble reversing at night with no street lights, tough making turns in places like Yonkers, NY (where most of the streets are not well-lit, etc.)
I guess I'm older now, and can't see as well, because now 35% is just perfect. Maybe in another few years I'll be down to 50%?

I have 35% on mine and although it is a little light it serves the purpose of protecting the inside from the heat and UV damage, is good for night time driving (too dark and I couldn't see shit), looks cool and still gives me privacy. My other car has 25% and is perfect! My main concern is the POLICE here in PA, cause if they stop you, then the shit could pile up pretty quick.

Is there such thing as 30%? I mean this has been such a huge debate of whether people should get 20 or 30...but is there any possible way to get something in between or is there a set percentage that tints are made with?

Not another one of these "waste of money" threads.
Seriously, if you did your research and looked at samples at the tint shop before making you decision, we wouldn't hear about it right?
Its just personal preference affected by the laws of your state.

I just got tint done couple weeks ago on my car and only cost 140 plus tax.
I got 5 on the back and 35 on the front. I'm a little hesitant about the front, looks
too dark. Oh well.. looks pretty tight and its not as hot as before..

$220...ouch...the place I go to in socal will on average do a car for $110 with dyed film and $140 with metallicized (sp) film. Out here in socal, 35% is perfect, it serves it's purpose and you most likelywont get any trouble with the fuzz.

i paid $360 for 35% windows and moleskin ($220 tint, $140 moleskin). you guys are saying, "$220!, they saw you coming!" but it is all about geographics. Tint is not legal in RI and MA and the few reputable shops that are in the area charge a premum to do the job and do it right. My tint shop offers a lifetime guarantee on tint and workmanship. All window edges are within 1/16 inch and tint is slid under all gaskets. IMO you get what you pay for, and this shop has done at least 10+ cars for friends and family and NEVER have any of us had anything negative to say about his worksmanship or products.

if you get 35% on your windshield all of your windows will look darker. I would say if you get all of them retinted get 15%. I like 15 the best, because people cant see you, and it is very easy to see out of.

I went with 35%, the legal limit in GA, I would have gone with the 20% on the rear and side and 35% on the front doors, it is nice but I would have liked to have it darker and more privacy

In my case, I went with F1 tint due to my Navi and it was either 35% or 15% and when I looked at the same the 15% looked waaaaay too dark IMHO and the tint shop said if the popo made me take it off I was on my own as they only recommend going as dark as 35% in my area.

If you had got 20% in the rear you would be fine.. Also you havent driven at night yet so wait until then and then see whats up. If its still not dark enough i would try just doing the rear @20% before peeling the whole car!

Paid 350 here got felt installed with the tints. 35% is a total waste of money, not even my parents noticed my windows were tinted. I might get them redone but MA sucks and anything darker then 35% is illegal.

I just got my 2000 DEP TL tinted with 30% HP for $235 here in Portland. I was thinking that 35% would be too light but my first thought was that was too dark, haha. I'm getting used to it though. 35% might have been perfect for the dark green color... just my opinion

I'm pretty happy with 35 all around. 20 or darker is just too hard to see at night, its just not that safe in some situations. I bougth my tint mainly for the UV protection anyway.

Nice car, you need some rockblocker though.

My dealer installed my tint and I have had to have it redone 2 times on the driver window from scratches. Thank goodness they don't give me hell and give me a loaner. Normally takes them two days. That's the plus side of having it done there

And if you think you had over paid for your tint for 35%, I got the same percentage, but paid $349 because I chose the ceramic version rather than the metallic one. My installer even threw in the moleskin to help protect my tint. Now that I've had my car for over a year, the tint looks pretty dark from certain angles.
