2010 TSX w/280 hp V6: Any takers?

Sounds like the type-s engine shoe horned into the TSX....

My wife has the 2009 TSX and it is a great compromise on the fuel economy side ( regularly 27mpg) and quite nimble. I have an 2007 Type-S that's a few hundred lbs heavier and that's quick. I guess the turbo placement here wont happen.

this new car will be a certified rocket ship in a neat little package....

Verterans sound off give me you

Would you consider makin a move?

Any ideas on the price point? Should be close to old type-s...

lemme know what you're thinking... or

Why they aren't offing a 6spd manual win that engine option is beyond me. Still it will be quick...I know how fast my type s is and the TSX has to be lighter....

im kinda of angry actually i bought this car not liking the new 09' TL and i never had a real problem with the TSX except that it was slower and now its getting a 3.5 V6 with enough power to blow the 08' TL-s out of the water. So i would consider this TSX but im already commited to this car so there is no turning around for me anymore. But yea to me performance is a key factor when buying a car so there is my .

No matter what 2010 TSX V6 is, I still take my 3G TL Type-S anyday...

Just compare the quality, interior space, amenity space, whole design integration, just look better...

TSX is and has always been tiny and small for me...

When I was shopping for new car back in 2007, my first choice in the exterior design was Lexus IS series, but interior space was just small, no matter higher quality of the material, I just couldn't use that car, same applies to TSX, for me Lexus IS and Acura TSX falls in the same category as Bimmer 3 series or Benz C-class.

This is true, but the new TSX is loads bigger- in fact the exterior dimensions are almost similar to the 3G TL. I believe its' only off by 3 inches in.. length?

I would definitely consider the new 280 hp TSX for my next car if only it had a manual.

My hope is that a manual will be offered in the future.

I like the TL's design better. Plus it's bigger and I feel like there are so many mods you can do. I'm not too picky on the performance stuff, TL's V6 is enough for me.

Was there a thread on this already?

Classic small car with a big engine stuffed into it. I love that Acura decided to bring the v6 to the TSX. I hope it doesn't throw off the handling aspect (any one know the weights of the i4 and v6 engines?). As for me, I'm still holding out hope for the NSX (maybe in ten years..?! )

There was a previous thread on this, IIRC.
What I'm hoping now is that.. since there will be a V6 TSX... there might be future ECU management options for us TLs =]

it's not small, they 'super-sized' it to nearly match the 3g TL dimensions.

hey don't talk ugly, take a good look at your newer bro 4g TL if we're talking about 3g TL looks then i'll agree it's not as cleanly designed.

if you guys want to keep it to 3G TL-S vs. 2G TSX V-6, then I'll leave it open, also I believe there is another thread on this, I'll search to be sure and merge if true.

if the TSX is almost the size of the TL, and the engines are the same, then wouldnt their weights be in the same range? maybe 100-200 pound difference at the most?

then that would mean, performancewise, the TL would be superior because of its sports tuned suspension.

it's only about 250lbs between the 09 tsx and 07 type-s. i believe the weight difference will be negated once the tsx gets the v6.

In laymans terms, we might have a reborn 3g type-s on our hands... almost the same if not near identical performance. Hopefully, the Brembos come as well!

LOL! After a few more miles i might press play on something like that....what i'm workin with right now is plenty of fun... the new proportions of the 2009 TL don't really suit me... i prefer compact and nimble.

they should really make it a TSX Type-S. that would definitely sell.

Sounds like it's going to be a blast to drive. I wonder what the weight distribution is going to be and how that will affect the handling?

All I know is that my TLS would kill any TSX. V6 engine, V4 s/c etc...no chance. Plus the TLS has a sexy ass.

I will probably give it a "look-see" in 2011 when my 08 TL lease is up. It will depend on any MYC's they make to the 4th gen TL (please get rid of/tone down the beak, Acura) as well as pricing/incentives at the time.

TSX is and has always been tiny and small for me...

When I was shopping for new car back in 2007, my first choice in the exterior design was Lexus IS series, but interior space was just small, no matter higher quality of the material, I just couldn't use that car, same applies to TSX, for me Lexus IS and Acura TSX falls in the same category as Bimmer 3 series or Benz C-class.
the new TSX is virtually identical to the 3G TL-S in terms of interior dimensions. i recently had a 09 TSX as a loaner and fit THREE car seats across the back. the new TSX is NOT small compared to the 3G TL. they are almsot the same. you may have diff in leg room - but in terms of width of the rear seat - they are almost the same.

the interior of the new TSX, to ME, looks much better and more modern than the outgoing 3G TL.

the TL came out in 04 man..... park a 3G TL next to a TSX and the TSX looks *newer*. I don't dispute the 3G TL-S has way more power/torque - but I think teh new TSX is overall a great car.

honestl, the new TSX *is* the TL. all the cars moved up a grade in size.

the TSX is NOW what the TL used to be.
the TL is NOW what the RL used to be.
I assume Acura (unless the depression cans their plans_) will release an RL that will be larger and more on par with a 5/7 series BMW in size.

the old TSX we all knew - civic sized car is GONE. that car was too smallcheap to compete with a 3 series. Acura bumped up the szie of the TSX to make it more on par with the 3 series.

i always saw Acura competing wiht BMW in terms of what htey offered - only doing it on a better "bang for buck". you can get a 328 or 335 - and pay for it. if you want similar size, decent luxury, you can get a TSX for a TON ch eaper, and still get a lot of luxury and techno stuff. if you HAVE to have a V6, you can still get the new 2010 V6 TSX - and have a car that is more poweful than a 328 - but cheaper. Acura won't be competing "head to head" weiyht BMW - but for shoppers who are loking for cars in that class - and want to be more economical/practical and will sacrifice the "badge" BMW snob/curb appeal - and want value - they will go with the TSX.

the new TL is clearly 5 series in size.

the 09 RL is dead. lets see what they do for 2010.

i see a lot of guys on the TL forum who hate the new TL. some have gone to the new TSX. the reason 3G TL guys don't really love the NEW TL is b/c it's not really a TL - it's the RL.

if you like the size/feel of the 3G TL, but want the power of a V6 - the new V6 TSX is your car.

This thread is pointless. Everyone is just going to vouch for their own car .. even if they owned an Accord or Civic. There is no backing to most of the claims saying their car Type S or Base will kill a TSX V6 or vice versa. If I had to put money on it, I'm going to say the TSX V6 will put Type S's to shame... but even my comment has no backing... so time will have to tell.
