Hey everyone! I have a 2008 acura tl with on 47000 miles on it. I am thinking about getting a 2010 RL the DEALER is asking for $35.000 it's a 3.7 with 300hp SH-AWD. It's fully loaded I really like it but I'm not sure if I should get it. I haven't seen one any were. to make a long sorry short...should I and Not....

The RLX might be around the corner. Have you looked into that yet?
If you like the car and it's what you want and/or need then go for it.

What do you like about your current car?
What don't you like about it?
Compare it to what you're looking at.

You said you're not sure. Think about what reservations you have about the RL before you make a decision.

Personally I think the RL is overpriced, I'd rather get a Lexus for the price of an RL... If you're into that old person look then go for it!

In my opinion, a neatly customized 3g TL is super sexy compared to the 4g. And I could care less about the RL. Why? I don't like the look of plain executive/luxury sedans. And because I wanted a car that had a good blend of sporty quality with a bit of luxury family sedan, so I bought the TL-S.

BUT everything I just said is MY opinion, which is not based or influenced by anyone else.
Im sure some 4g enthusiast thinks I'm crazy liking the 3g type-s over the 4g sh-awd.
But the type-s is what I want.

If the RL is what you WANT, then don't let anyone stop you.

If i had and extra 48g sittin around that would be my down payment on a classic NSX just my

I love rock music and only listen to rock. Why don't I listen to R&B? There are some really great R&B songs out there but it's just not my style.

I was heir to Bill Gate's fortune I still wouldn't buy an RL because I WANT a TL-S. The RL is a beautiful car, its just not my style.

Ya I know. I was going to sell them if I got the car and then buy new one. I look at this car like if I could do something good with it then surprise people with it.

While we're on the topic of opinion I think the Carrera GT is a boring linear flatcake with uninspired and lazy design. But in spite of my humble opinion I'm sure VanyDotK would still buy one.

My point is you should do the same concerning the RL. F**k what other people think.

I agree... I wouldn't waste that much money on RL. Just get an Accord instead. It looks excatly like it
My dad had 09 RL. He went to pick-up my 9 years old sister from the school. He got off the car and went to talk to her teacher, my sis continued walking passing my dad to put her backpack on to the car. She went and put it on top of an someother guys Accord haha

Do they even make an aspec kit or anything for that model? The 08's look sweet and would save you a lot of $

You'll be one of about 7 people on the planet that own an RL ... now that's exclusivity.

If I wanted to buy a car $35,000, I'd just save up a couple thousand more and buy a new 4G TL SH-AWD, but that's just me ...

meh, why not just get a 06-08 since interior wise they're more or less the same and they're 10k cheaper.

The exterior they just face lifted on the newer ones. They call them 2.5G RL. A properly done up 2G RL (i.e. Mugen) looks real good.

06-08 looks more sporty to me, modifying it looks pretty well. New one? Nope
Same interior, better looking, less money

+1 on getting a 06-08 model... It will be a lot cheaper and I'm sure you will be just as satisfied. Either that or pay a little extra and get something different.

So I would say no...

What do you mean 7,000,000? They sold that many RL's?
Till today, Acura sold 6,000 RL's. (around)
Last year they sold like 600.

I never see one also. May be I am in Boston and mostly students but still numbers are low. Even Acura says that reason they keep the RL is to have a car on the upper level sedan.

Oh...but my dad haha
He had 09. Used it for a year and traded it with an 11 FX35 because of a problem he had with it.
I'll post pics when I get home

How many TL's were sold in a year when it first came out in 04? 56,000
Right now 38,000 tho. Same as G37.
MDX 55,000

Camry? 410,000 a year. I don't get it haha

^ I agree. I am going to buy an 07-08 TL Type-S in about 2 months. In the last year I have considered MANY diff cars. About a month ago I was considering a used 08 TL. After thinking it over, and asking on the RL side of AZ, I decided to stick with my original choice-07-08 WDP TL Type-S. The New RL coming out will probably be $55k new.

You choice brother ???
You must choose
NO RL for me.

RL is failing behind other competition like BMW 5 series, Lexus GS/LS, Mercedes S class. IMO its better off to buy a Lexus or something else.

The TL has touch screen navi which is so much easier to use than spinning and pushing a knob. If u get an RL, get the black interior, the brown looks like poo

I was consider 2nd gen RL as a back up plan as I can't buy a TL-S but I am glad tta I went with the TL-S. I like the TL exterior looking and interior is more detail than the RL however I wish my TL has SH-AWD with that power sun screen in the back window and back.

Does RL really stands for "Refined Luxury" ?
Wiki says.
Also Acura said F..k you Germans, we will not put 8 Cylinders to RLX
The car would be powered by a hybrid all-wheel-drive powertrain with 370 horsepower and 449 lb·ft of torque

Talking 2010 rl

O'k here are some pics of the RL the rims were on when I bought the car but I DON'T LIKE THEM! I hate chrome rime so I am going black. I am thinking about Plasti dip but I am not sure. Let me know what you guys think. I see a car that I could do some much with and surprise people with. Sorry I didn't take more pictures but it was getting late I'll do later.
