Brembos also need to be replaced on average at 20k miles. That's pretty low for brake pads.
Base brakes I think most replace at 50k, that's more than double the lifetime of the Brembo pads!
On top of that most brake tests and several knowledgeable users from this forum have concluded that the Brembos DO NOT stop faster than the base brakes in a one time 60-0mph panic stop. Brembos will not fade though like the base brakes will, I've tried myself several hard stops in a row and the brakes seemed to stop on the 10th stop like they did in the first stop.
Honestly though for a real life DD, no one is going to be using their brakes that much that they come close to fading. At the end of the day, while I enjoy my Brembos I am somewhat jealous of the 50k avg and cheaper cost of the base brakes.

MistahSleepy hit the nail on the head.
There is no need for BBK unless you're doing a lot of consecutive highspeed braking. If not, then it's all for looks.
You'll see/feel more improvement to your braking with proper air pressure and better tires. If you can already lock up your brakes to engage ABS, then that's as good as it's going to get for your car (under normal, daily driving conditions).
Again, if you autocross and track the car often, then BBK will help.
On my previous car, I upgraded with Brembo Gran Turismo BBK. Aside from a crapload of dust, the only real improvement I felt was the stainless steel brake lines which gave the pedal a firmer response.
