Im tempted to try and put the 07-08 Type S A-Spec lip on my base 05.

Does it come with the black foglight grills? Some pics ive seen they look as part of the lip?

The type s aspec has black grilles already in it. If you have an 07-08 bumper you have to take out the factory ones but leave the fogs screwed into the bumper fascia. As for putting it on a base 05 bumper... Good luck with that. It isn't going to fit right. The grilles on your bumper are different and also the bottom of your bumper is slightly different. Try thread searxhing. Not to be a dick or anything buddy but I'm going to tell you what everyone else is. SEARCH! Everything that you can imagine to do to your car has been covered a million times on here. Now, sometimes its a bit hard to find. So here is a trick. Type what you want into Google with AcuraZine behind it and you will get many links right to it!

Trust me, I HAVE been searching. For days with about 40 links added to my favorites. There is so many duplicate posts, people asking same questions over and over its a big mess to search thru. Im not kidding when I say I have sat here for 4-5 hours at a time trying to find stuff on my own.


About the 04-06 aspec front lip, seems like it will just mount right up correct?

I am new here tho, and I have used google and this site to where my eyes are falling out of my head.

The lip made for your car will mount up. 04-06 are different though

Yep. The 04-06 A-Spec lip will fit your car with no issues.

I meant the 04-06 aspec are different than the 07-08 type s aspec. 04-06 will fit your car(the one made for it) no modification required. Even comes painted!

Since i bought my 04 base TL ive been searching this... still no answer.. this may be the closest ive gotten to a definite answer, so i fully understand you searching and nothing... ive been searching since march 8th... there are a gazzilion post on the rear bumper but no definite answer on the front... ive even sent PM's to the older more knowledgeable folks and nothing... so ill definitely keep an eye on this thread... im interested to do the samething... even if i can get an answer saying it will fit the 07-08 base that would be more than i found so far lol

Sorry if this is thread jacking but ive been trying for a month now lol.... can this lip fit on a base 04-06 front bumper, if not what are the modifications and or will it fit on a 07-08 base front bumper

^^ that's an 07-08 base aspec, it doesn't seem that hard for it to fit, just need the bumper grills for the foglights, Id imagine a little fab work but not much.

Grand_hustle17 you want to put a 07-08 aspec s-type lip on yours as well? I cant see how it would be that difficult unless the bumper is wider or shorter. I think im just going to do the 04-06 aspec lip and call it a day.

like i was saying.... it'll fit a base 07-08 bumper but not without modifications. I have a base 08 with a type-s front lip so I know it'll work but to make things easy just get a type-s bumper and it'll be easy peezy

well seeing as though the KBP color paint was only available in type-s and not base then that pretty much sums it up no matter how dark ur monitor is. do some research before jumping to conclusions

umm my monitor was to dark to show the lines on the lip around the plate. Contrast was to low. Sorry I don't investigate which colors are on what cars. It's not a big deal don't get your panties in a bunch, seems like they already are tho. Its a forum relaaaax... haha

Not to prolong the thread as ive finally gotten an answer but the reason its so confusing is that it seems 04-08 fit those 04-06 base aspec lip well but not vice versa, im most likely wrong, but during that whole month of searching the base aspec lip seems to fir every tl on earth lol... So i thought in typical honda fashion, everything is interchangeable lol.. boy how wrong was that lol

Yes it does fit I put a type s lip on my 04 base I had to cut the bumper to make it fit check my thread

Man this Type S A-spec fitment argument with the 04-06 bumpers is getting WAY OLD. It's already been proven that it WILL FIT with some modifications. There are multiple threads on this.

I have a preference towards the 04-06 Base lip, but am not willing to do the extra work to make it fit, so I'll be getting the Type-S lip, eventually.

the thing that sucks ass and is making me nervous about buying the TL lip is because there are 2 compleeeetely different answers on the question... and i dont know if ppl are answering based on a whole front end conversion or just the lip.... i would really just like a yes or no answer....

Grand_hustle, Im pretty sure from what I gathered the lip itself will work with modification to the lower grills sections. After reading this thread... http://www.tl.acurazine.com/forums/s...d.php?t=752765 I am confident. It is a very meticulous job, it is not for the easily pissed off lol. Probably not recommended for 90% of the owners.

Yea im new here, but very experienced in modding cars. I'm pretty good at auto body stuff. Looking at all angles of the 07-08 type-S lip the grills of the stock 04-06 bumper will need to be trimmed out to provide space for the type-s grills.

I was thinking about doing it then I realized I cant order it in my color car, which is annoying. I may just go the 04-06 aspec lip because of that

i dont mind paying for the paint... i dont mind paying modifying the lower grill with the fog lights thats extremely light work... i do mind paying for a whole front bumper if i dont need to though... i already want RV6 TD and have to replace the rear bumper so thats gonna take my bank account.. i wish some people could just answer the question on the other thread... now here is my question for you.. you mention the grill is different, does the lip cover or touch the main center grill??? didnt look like it went up that far.. if you were talking about the lower grills, i dont mind replacing the entire lower grill for the type S ones... seems like thats all that would really need to be done... or at least replace the 04-06 lower grills for the 07-08 base lower grill with fogs.. i couldve sworn ive seen where someone installed accord fogs on a base 04-06 bumper

btw NitroViper if u just researched alittle ud find out that u don't have to mod any bumper grills and that with the type-s lip u have to remove them since the lip has their own. good luck modding ur 04-06 bumper and that's coming from someone who modded his 08 base bumper to accept the same front lip
