Hello,

My first post here, I'm looking to buy a TL but I'm on a budget and I really like the 2008 and up model (steering wheel, wheels etc.)

I found a 2006 TL with Nav and only 40k for 19k. The only thing I wouldn't be happy with is the pre 2008 steering wheel. I found some on ebay for $400.

So my question is can the steering wheel/controlls from a 2008 and up be swapped to the 2006?

I searched and searched on here but couldn't find anything on that topic. I did read it uses the same airbag .

I am wondering the same thing... does anyone know if this is possible? I ride in my bosses all the time and I have to say the 2008 steering wheel looks much better

Its possible but requires a lot of wiring and modding to make it work correctly...

Also the 04-06 airbag is different from the 07-08. So you'd have to buy a steering wheel and airbag in order to do the swap. Along with a bunch of other stuff probably.

Yup the wiring for 07-08 is different with 04-06 like the guy post before me you will need airbag also, BTW remember you will have to some how wiring that MID control to your 04-06 MID since the button is on a different location.

It's not worth it really. You're better off finding either one of the accessory wheels (cf or wood) or one of the aspec wheels (hah, good luck).

^^^ I thought the A-spec steering wheel are no longer available for purchase.

^That is true, hence the "Hah, good luck" part. They come up in the BM every once in a while. Or Ebay.

It's much easier to find the accessory steering wheels.
