crazy.

I know tl is a good car but 41k is just too much. does it really make that much difference? If I had 41k, I would rather wait for the new g35 coupe.

Dude... get the consumer reports buyers guide!

Damn! That's WAY out of line. Check out those car pricing services. I used Consumer Reports (www.consumerreports.org ... I think) to get the dealer invoice pricing on all the cars I considered. I offered my dealer $1000 over the invoice on a 2005 TL w/ Navi. You can't offer the invoice price or $100 over on a new car that sells as well as the TL. They'll shine you on knowing the next guy will pay more. The salesman I had jumped at my offer. Negotiations on my trade did not go as well for me, but I was happy to be rid of it and it only ended up costing me about $825 for me to own the vehicle (2000 Sebring convertible) for about 10 months.

Do your homework and make a fair offer on the ASpec. Remember, the ASpec is nothing more than a few interior pieces, wheels and a modified suspension setup. It was intended to give the car a firmer ride without compromising comfort too much. Good for "spirited" driving. Other than that, the ASpec is exactly the same as a standard TL.

Find out what the dealer paid. It's the best way to know you're not getting hosed. If you don't get the price you want, wait and find a dealer that will agree to your offer. No sense paying sticker price if you don't have to!

Definitely buy the aspec package outside of the dealership

Full aspec body kit - $757 shipped
Suspension - $600
Installation definitely under 1000 for both

So you are paying $2500 for what Acura is probably charging you $4000-$5000

Ya'll gota use the search more when posting about price on 2006 TL...

If you're looking at 2006TL w/Navi, a good price out the door is 32,500-30,000 (taxes and tags included)

A-spec installed at dealers are obviously more expensive but people who like the warranty and stuff, good price for that installed out the door is 39,000 with navi and a-spec fully installed and taxes and tags included.

Bottomline:

2006 TL Navi - 32,500 - 33,000 OTD
2006 TL Navi + Full A-spec from dealer = 39,000

I paid $757 for kit itself and $275 for install of my aspec body kit and paid $600 for suspension $140 for install of suspension.

You are forgetting the rims and tires though, so add another $1500 at the minimum if you want those.

Actually steering wheel is still included.

A lot of dealers took it out, but Acura Headquarters had confirmed that it's still part of the package.

The way A-Spec steering wheel works is that it's the dealer's discretion to add or take out the steering wheel. Most took it off, but according to Acura, it is still part of the package legally.

I had an issue with this and my dealer and the manager apologized and gave me the carbon fiber one for free.

I agree 41k is too much for the Aspec TL, and piecing it out would be the smarter was to go, but I have a question for Sybaek3-Do you pay state tax where you purchased your vehicle?

The reason I ask this because 32,000-33000 OTD for an 06 TL Navi would be under invoice according to all my research (edmunds, KBB, etc.). I paid 33,300 (including destination, protection package, etc) before taxes, which was about 300 over invoice according to Edmunds. Just wondering how you swung that so that if I am missing something I can negotiate better next time around, as I thought I was getting a good deal until I heard your price. Maybe its a regional adjustment.

Also, can someone tell me where they got the ASpec suspension seperately?

I have called a few local dealers (Chicago) and a few on the West Coast and they are all telling me that for the 06 they do not sell it seperately anymore and it is part of of performance package that includes the ASpec Wheels/Tires, Suspension, and Brake pads for about $2900. I have the body kit and just want the suspension. Wonder if I say I have an 05 if it will work, anyone know?

Vince2006,

What you are missing in the dealer pricing being below invoice is the dealer holdback. Some times in the year, the factory will give the dealer an incentive to move cars by giving them a 'hold back' that is not usually known to the public. The holdback can range between a few hundred to a few thousand dollars usually. There was an end of year holdback from Acura in December. This is why I was able to get my '06 TL w/navi for a little over $31,400 (inc. Dest. but before taxes) in December. That's around $1400 under invoice if I remember correctly.

davenlei,

Thanks for the response.

I guess I missed the boat on that one even though I bought mine in the end of December of 05 I did not realize about the dealer holdback. No use crying about it now, I will just enjoy my TL. Wish I had checked here first, before buying but too late now.

Thanks for all your comments. I want to get the ASpec at the dealer though since its under warranty. One of you said I could get it out the door for $39k? It's really unbelievable to me. Has ANYONE been quoted for a TL manual w/ navi and complete ASpec package for $39k??? That is dirt cheap!! Someone point me in the right direction.

FOR THE BAY AREA members...
Which Acura dealership has the best prices???

why would you wanna pay $40000 for the car thats gonna get "refreshed" next year? TL is not worth $40000 with Aspec or not.....if you dont need a car immediately, then wait for the next year or the new infiniti G35......but regardless, good luck

Is there anyway to get the Aspec package w/o the Aspec rims, since I'll probaby be swapping them out anyways. And the previous post says the TL is gettin refreshed next year. Does that meant their changing the model and if so does anyone have any pics of the new model?
