Ugh. I think I just made a big mistake!

I ordered the ASPEC kit via the vendor on here that has the group buy going. I just bought my car yesterday. It's a 2006 Acura TL silver color. I THOUGHT it was the Satin Silver Metallic. But after goggling 2006 Acura TL Colors... I noticed that in 2006 it is NOT called SSM its Alabaster Silver Metallic.....

I ordered the ASPEC kit for SSM not ASM!! I emailed both vendor and the place that was shipping it, hopefully they can catch it before it ships. But just a quickie, from pics, SSM and ASM look awfully the same. Is it? and in 2006 was SSM offered? or only ASM?

I can't tell you the difference, but the '04-'05 Satin Silver has a paint code NH623M, while the '06+ Alabaster Silver is NH700M.

Won't be long before one of the members will reply with the difference. These people know everything.

 

they look very similar. Unfortunately the car is not parked at my location right now. So I can't run out to check the Color code. But Now im almost 100% convinced that it SHOULD be Alabaster Silver Metallic. I feel like a total #$#@$ for not catching this before hand.

I think the reason why is b/c i used to own a 2004 SSM TL and i figured this is the same color since its silver! haha

 

They are very similar. One is slightly more gray-ish. There's not much of a difference, but there's a possibility that once you put the SSM lip on the ASM car, you'll be able to tell.

 

Sorry, but ASM replaced SSM in '06. ASM is a lighter, brighter shade of silver than SSM.

OTOH, if the A-Specs shipped, just compare the colors upon arrival in case the kit actually matches your car's paint, despite the actual paint specs.

 

ASM is more of a silver than SSM.

SSM has a hint of blue.

I emailed and called the dealership that the vendor deals with. When I called, the guy said he doesn't deal with the group buy offer, but he will leave a note for the people that do. And he said it will most likely ship on Monday anyways. So HOPEFULLY, I got time. I also pmed the vendor to have him contact his contact and let them know as well.
