2005 TL with 144k miles WTF!!!

Dang this person has really driven their TL....

I work at an Acura dealership in the service dept and the other day I drove a 2005 TL with 144k !?!?!?! The car....cosmetically was a mess, no dents that I recall but the paint was scratched all over the interior seats/floors were stained and I mean STAINED...the leather was ripped on the passengers seat. I could not believe anyone would have their 2005 TL in that condition but anyway the car still sounded the same when starting the car (no hesitation) and drove the same as any other TL.

someone used it as a beater for real... under 4 years 140k miles is good for almost 3 times the national anual miles average

My mom bought a new CL in 97 and had 150k in about 16 months but the car was in great shape. She commuted from south jersey to NYC and bought the car to drive it. If it were for me it would have been trashed too, coffee stains galore but thats what happens when you are in the car all the time. The CL was just shy of 300K when my sister totalled it but it had no problems to speak of

My mom just got rid of her '99 Mercedes (car was just under 7 years old, bought in '00 driven till '07) and it had 280K miles. The interior was in good shape but the outside . I dont think she washed it more than once per year, and even that was with an automatic car wash She had been in at least 2 accidents that were no her fault that she never even bothered reporting. You could actually read the numbers off of someone else's licence plate in her back bumper. She had rust-through in a couple spots, and several nasty scratches. The grill was smashed where a truck tire went through it. But everything worked and the thing ran ok. Just another reason why working in a city blows.

Racking up some pretty good mileage. I used to work on a guys mid-90's Camry - last time I saw it was in 2004 (or early 2005) and he had over 600k on it. Fucking crazy.

Meh, if you drive a lot then miles do rack up quick.

My 02 TL had 150k miles before I sold it last month, before that 97 Maxima had 250k miles, my brother bought my 00 TL with 96k miles on it in 04 from me and has 260k miles on it as we speak

If i didnt have 2 vehicles and had 5 trans failures with down time for 6+ months to do a 6 speed swap my 2000 TL would probably be nearing 400+ k miles on the TL

I work at a chevy dealership in the service department. You would be amazed at some of the cars i see. Brand new cars with trashed interiors, cars that have 100k put on them in a year. Some of these cars i wont even get into with out my rubber gloves on because they are so nasty. The worst is when they smoke in their cars with the windows up and it gets so nasty that the tar is all over the windows and you cant see out them very well.

Was the transmission still original? That's what I'm most curious about.

I really don't know, but now that you mention it, it should have looked thru their service records to see....not that they would have necessarily got it done at our dealership but would have been nice to see if it was or was not, I'm thinking it wasn't only cause you know some TLs have the tranny problem, but you never know...
