I heard last night that the RL's getting Michelins, so it would make sense for all the TLs to get Michelins too!

MSRP and PDI in Canada for 2005

I should've mentioned that the MSRP in Canada for the non-NAVI 2005 TL is $41,000 (up $200 from last year). PDI is $1,200 (up $250 from last year.)

Some of 04TL info shows 186, others show 189. IMO, I believe 189.

05TL should have the exactly same size.

I Think the 05tl is 186 inches. If u think it was 189 for 04 then it is shorter right. coz the edmunds site also shows 189 for the 04 whereas the official tl brochure shows 186.2. A little confusing tho. But like u said there is no reason for them to shorten it by 3 inches within the second year of production.

I don't think it will get Pilot Sports, but probably Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 like the rsx and the tsx (crappy tire when it rains...)

anyone know if they finally have an integrated key? why is it that the accord has this and the TL doesnt. i know someone mentioned the integrated key issue in another thread but no one really gave a real reason as to why acura has not introduced this to their lineup

Honda/Acura does not have an integrated key yet that will work with the memory seats. Therefore all cars with memory seats will have a key and a fob.

is this in the 04?

can someone confirm this?

The vivid 8" color touch-control screen can display a moving map that appears three-dimensional, as if seen at an angle from the air. You can zoom in and out, and view two fields in split-screen. The system will display direction arrows, detailed street names, turning instructions and driving distances

this basically means the 3-d bird's eye view display right? if it is, then it's a new option b/c it wasn't in the 04.

OK, I didn't have my detailed 04 tech info handy now, but will check it carefully tonight.

It's a little hard to check and discuss all specifications one by one at this pre-stage era of 05, but, IMHO, 05 should have exactly the same system as 04 has.

04 says: "Split-screen mode features a simultaneous "map view" and selective "3-D" route visualization."

And, if this is really 05's new feature as Infiniti does, Acura will say it loudly.

So, my answer to your Q is "Yes, 04 has it, too.

Hi everybody--this is my first post. I've just put a thousand down and "reserve ordered" a 2005 TL 5AT NAV ABP/Camel - exactly the specs I wanted - which is already on the board at my local Acura dealer (Curry Acura Scarsdale NY) and scheduled to arrive no later than October 15 - this will be their first shipment of 05's. I put on the agreement "subject to agreement on price" to leave room for negotiation. I will use as benchmarks the best deals I see on this site, and share my experience on price, quality and changes from '04 with all. In the meantime, any advice at this stage would be appreciated.

Regards,
Luke

2004 tl flaws

hey guys,
im interested in getting a 04 tl, but from reading all the reviews by owners, i noticed that the car seems to have some issues. Such as rattles in the glove box, center console, steering wheel and vibration when driving over 50. some annoying things that are steering me away, and do any of you guys know if they will fix this in 05 edition .

thanks

OK. So we now know what MSRP is. The big question is, what is invoice on each trim? I cant negotiate too well w/o it.

I read an article about the '05 TL in french on this page : http://www.autonet.ca/francais/Nouve...?storyID=12917

"Pour 2005, la TL change peu.
L'esthétique et l'aménagement intérieur restent inchangés, cependant le mode de reconnaissance de la voix français pourra désormais être utilisé pour le téléphone cellulaire, le système HandsFreeLink fait désormais partie de l'équipement de série des trois versions de la TL, enfin le volant est nouveau et présente la gravure d'un logo Acura. La TL est assemblée dans une usine Honda située en Ohio."

Sorry if it's in french, but it says that the logo on the steering wheel changed. If you look at the pictures, you'll notice the '04 had a glossy black and silver logo and the '05 has a chrome logo (like logos outside the car) :

2004 :

2005 :

minor thing but just to let you know that's a change for 2005...

Auto ON-Off?????

I just looked a tthe Acura web page, and it still says Auto-Off Headlights. Also, I checked the hondanews page, and the only changes were related to airbags.

Where is the information for Auto ON-Off headlights coming from? If it is true, I wonder what it would take to retrofit my '04.

For those that have yet to pick up an '05 brochure, here are the spec pages - I apologize for the quality. The uploader only accepts 75K or smaller images.

Inside the safety feature menu. Check again.

Ok, I hope that salesman really knows something we don't know here.

04 says "293 verbal commands"; 05 says "293 preprogrammed voice commands". I really hope the website lists the wrong info, and that salesman just leaks the inside news.

For the software upgrade, I couldn't find any words from Acura sites, but if there is the one, this could be the most possible deal. http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=28 copied from 05RL. If possible, 05TL could share the similar software as 05RL (without the real time traffic system).

It's 3D view, but different to 04TL's split screen.

Hi, I've been "lurking" for the past few months, and finally decided to join. I hope to become a member of the family very soon. I have decided to wait for the 2005 after having very little sucess finding a good deal on a 2004. The dealers in Atlanta are very cocky and don't seem to want to budge much off MSRP, especially for the '05. Does anybody else have experience buying here and what dealer they bought from and price? I have visited Carland, Ed Voyles, and Nalley and all are profit minded, rather than customer focused.

I ran into this same problem last year when trying to place an order for my 04 MDX. The dealers in Atlanta wanted to charge a "market adjustment", aka dealer markup. I ended up buying my MDX at an Acura dealership in Nashville, TN (3 1/2 to 4 hour drive from Atlanta).

We are considering an 05 TL and will give the Atlanta dealers another try for our sales business........they already get my service business.

Some features of the updated navi will be available with a DVD (disc) upgrade to the TL. I tried my dealer, American Honda/Acura, and Alpine, and all had "no idea" when the updated disc would be released.

3.30G is the latest disc available from acuranavi.com; my car (an early 2004) has 3.11a. I'd love to know when the new disc w/ new features will be out...

I just recieved this info from a Dealer in Pittsburgh:

"We received two '05 TLs today. They are both anthrocite. The base model has the Bridgestones, and the navi car has Michelin Pilots. Give me a holler if you have any questions. Thanks."

This confirms that Navi Models come with the Michelin Pilots and non-navis get the BS tires.

If Navi model all comes with Pilot Sport A/S automatically, I'd say 05TL Navi's MSRP is the great price...

If possible, could you go to check that car and shoot some pics for us. Also, please check the following item for us, too. Thanks.

You think we 04 Navi owners could get Pilots as a replacement if our Turanzas are flatspotting?

I don't think it's gonna be Pilot Sport A/S, because it's a very different tire compare to the Turanza. If you go on the Michelin Website :
http://michelinman.com then rollover the Performance Luxury section and you'll see they added the Acura TL in the list. So it'll probably be the MXM4 (or MXV4)... like the TSX and the RSX.

It's about the same as the Turanza...
