2004TL Performance Numbers 0-60 & 1/4

These numbers are not what I expected, but official from Honda.

AT-1/4 mile 15.01sec@ 99mph 0-60 6.60 sec

6spd-1/4 mile 14.88sec@ 100.8mph 0-60 6.37 sec

Anyone else think these numbers are a little light?

Angry

When & where did Honda publish these numbers? They are much higher than what I thought for the 6-speed.

330 and G35 got faster numbers...
Let's wait for test drives...

Yea, Honda / Acura is not stupid like some other manufacturers who claim faster numbers and then nobody is able to duplicate them. Estimated times are ALWAYS slower for Honda / Acuras. For example, everyone thought that the Accord coupe V6 6MT was not that fast but C&D got it to do 0-60 in 5.9 and had very impressive 1/4 mile times as well. We definitely have to wait for the test drives...

These aren't drag launch numbers. The V6 6 MT Accord has gotten 0-60 in 5.9 seconds with professional drivers under favorable track conditions.

Basically these numbers Honda gives out are "worst case" numbers, you have to not be trying to get slower times.

Exactly I dont know what people are expecting, the car is will be quick enough. I guess some of them were thinking it will be head and shoulders above the 02/03 TLS in acceleration, NOT! Plus if that 99 trap is good for the auto that great and 100.8 is good for the manual!

You see, Acura is very careful about showing up their previous cars, i.e. making the new TL too much faster than the 2003TLS, although it might actually be so.

This came from someone on A-TSX.com, after he got back from a ride and drive, yesterday.

This was genuine commentary, not sarcasm.

LOL, the Base which is the 04TL is 270 HP

There will be no more TYpe-S's but expect a different tuned car in the future..

The 04 TL A-Spec will come out in November FYI

You need to come on this forum more often

The numbers from Honda seem conservative but not totally surprising. We are talking about just a few more horsepower and torque than a 2003 TL Type S right? Actually, the bigger tires probably help the acceleration tires at least as much if not more than the minor power boost.

so wait a second...

essentially if the new '04 does a 1/4 mile in 15 seconds, then that would make our '03 TL-S faster than it?

does that make sense?

Those car and driver numbers are not official.....they're just guesses that they made. Wait for official numbers.........

I suspect the 6-speed will easily run around 14.5 or so

He is so wrong...The 04 Type-S is supposed to have 390HP to help it run with the Mustang Cobra.

I heard there will be a Type-O coming out in 2 years with 500 HP, AWD, IMA, and be able to compete with a M5
