Hi,

My front leather seats have cracked a lot and the driver's seat really looks odd with the paint peeling off at the cracked location. The car has 80k miles on it but now the seats look like 10 years old with some 150k miles. I bought the car used and there was enough damage done. I had them conditioned twice in 8 months now but of no use. The rest of the interior is just fine except for the front seats.
Can someone please help me on restoring the seats (search could not retrieve any threads on restoration). I live in Northern VA and would like to know whether there is a shop around that can do it or is it DIY ?

the leather has worn, the TL has real leather that will crease with age, not pleater which lasts much longer. You will have to have an uphosltery shop cut and add a new piece of leather there. I suggest that you also have them fix and refoam the side bolster since it's probably worn out too. Make sure you show the shop that your seat heaters work when you go there, and you expect them to work when you get it back

I'd call some of the top rated independent body shops for a referal. There is a thread you can search for here for NOVA body shop recommendations. My personal favorite is Quality Auto Body in Fairfax
