2004-2006 vs 2007-2008

Alright, I am at the point I'm buying the 3rd gen Acura finally. Going to a dealer for it, my question is this, in my searches the main thing between the 04-06 and 07-08 was the HP was increased a little and the Transmission was better in the later years. how much of a concern is the transmission?

I am working with a budget of 12-13K so it is keeping me away from the Type S, and making the 07-08 hard to find with less than 100K or even 120K. I have found some 04 and 05 with clean 1 owner or 2 owner carfax regularly maintained at a acura dealership for my price range. what shoudl I been keeping and eye out for?

and also ALL 2004-2008 base TL's have the same horsepower. nothing changed but how they tested it.

Great, so the cars are clean carfax, showing great maint history at acura dealers and having under 102K for a price tag of 11,500 and 12,500. One of them is offering a 2 year (or when hits 100K miles) power train warranty for free on the car from the inspection they did. granted the 100k miles will be hit in 13K miles but it gives some peice of mind.

I never trust warranties that aren't CPO. seem sketchy. either way everyone on this site succumbs to the money pit of modification.

Since the difference is only $1000, I'd go with the 07/08 one. The different transmission alone is worth it.

Geez I feel like I'm responding to this same type of thread on a daily basis lol. This is simple, if you can afford to get an 07/08 absolutely get it. The body and interior was slightly refreshed, the tranny is solid, and it has a few more features like backup cam and aux in for mp3 capability.

I cant get the 07 - 08. there is a 04 and 05 for around the same price. any 07 - 08 in my area close to 100K miles is 16 - 20K.

Went and test drove 2 today -

This one was clean and sharp however concerned with the ownership and lack of service history -

89K miles, listed at 12,800 so i know i can get a better deal and they are giving for free a 12K mile / 2 year warranty with road side assistance for 2 years and tire replacement for 2 years against hazards - (no pics available yet but I went and saw it)

pretty confident about this one due to being local and 1 owner with HUGE maint record -

Sure, you can call it whatever you want, but it doesn't change the fact that backup cams are priceless features that have significant safety benefits.

^ and that stupid eco mode where the engine turns off at idle. that feature infuriates me. getting into a driveway is hilarious.

If you can find an '07-'08 with around 100-120,000 and it's been taken car of, go for it.
