I don't have a camera worth bringing so a go-pro would be a +!

^no, but are the SC TL's even fast!?
I dont know to much about them but without a proper tune, they're only extracting 60hp from it. or so i've read.

at bset they're probably making a little under 300whp......?
a fully bolted on tl-s is right at 300whp.

or so i've read.

Yeah, but thought that you guys can push up the boost to 8# or 9# now and get more power? I would LOVE to run some Turbo TL'S in the area but I think I've only heard of them in your neck of the woods...

the limiting factor, I believe is the tune.

we do have a new ECU available, allowing to up the boost

Even with a good tune, I don't think an SC'd TL gets more than 350 or so HP. Opel, I think is getting somewhere in the 350 range .... maybe 400 (??); he's supercharged, isn't he?

(checked - his signature says 375 HP).

(Edit: this says 385 with SC and meth injeciton: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/new-dyno-run-gone-bad-736249/)

CTS-V pulls 550-ish stock. Plus loads of torque and RWD.

How heavy is the CTS-V?

using Opel as an example, what are the weight to hp ratio's of both cars?

CTS-V is about 4225 pounds and 556 SAE rated HP, 55x torque. So, 7.6 lbs/HP.

TL MT is about 3500 lbs and Opel is 385 is at the wheels. So call it 385/.85 ~= 450 rated HP. That's 7.7 lbs/HP.

I don't see how the FWD TL can hook up that much power effectively though.

Fastest drag time posted is a 13.1 @ 107 for a TL. Stock CTS-V's are running 12.3's @ ~115+.

Oops. Strike that, I quoted CTS-V specs for 2011.

For a 2005 it's 400 HP and 395 Tq @ ~3850 pounds.

Drag Times posted time shows it might be very close. ~13.1 - 13.4 @ ~105 - 109.

Yup, I'm only 400hp with 395tq and even though the lbs is qouted at 3750 its really closer to 3800 to 4000lbs... what is the weight of a TL? It would be a badass race if they are 320+whp... the CTS-V in stock form only puts down between 333 to 345whp and runs like shit from a dig.. I'm wanting as many dig runs as possible.. roll races I'm a pro at and don't really see the challenge in that.. do we have anyone with some nice power in my area that owns 04 thru 07? If so than please shoot them a message, text, email letting them know... like I said, I'm down for drag strip or Mexico... lol only thing is win or lose I wanna go for a ride in it! Lol

No, but I've come close... 550I tried playing with me but I had my young son in the car and just let him go... and tried playing with a 4.2 V8 S4 that was speeding on the highway a few months back but he slowed down and wouldn't bite...

One of the members who owns a 6MT supercharged TL pulled away from both those cars. I thought if you raced either one of those cars we'd have a better guess at how this race would turn out.

Should be a very interesting run if we're talking about a 6MT S/C TL. If we're talking 5AT, it's gonna be all CTS-V.

To be honest the edge goes to the V over both cars but because they stats are so close between all said cars it falls back to a drivers race... I do have an example of a V racing the 4.2 S4 at the track but haven't heard or seen anything about the 550I running a V.. that would be a good ass race.. how do the 550i's compair to the Z4? I've raced one of those and put about 4 or 5 cars on it by 90mph...

Are you on LS1tech? If not then check it out bro... they also have a pretty cool kills section that gets new kills added almost everyday... even a few CTS-V kills every so often.. here is the link to the V section... I'm "adanieljohnson1" over there...
