I just picked up my TL today! I am very happy with the car. Two things that I am surprised that the car doen not have are an automatic headlight feature, and I wish that you could work the air conditioning/heating system on the navigation touch screen. I have not read the manual yet to see if you can do either of these, but the dealer told me that you can't.

 

1. Personally, I hate automatic headlights. I like how honda/acura cars dont have auto headlights. At least they shut off automatically.

2. Its kinda funny that you complain about this, I think all the mags were complaining about the touch screen HVAC controls for the 2nd gen TLs with nav.

 

Yes...I hate how everytime I want to manually turn on the air, I have to go through my navi. Pretty annoying at times. :p

 

It's not a bad idea to have auto headlight feature. If you don't like it, you can turn that feature off. Maybe 05TL would have...

For AC over the Navi screen, I prefer to having the current buttons configuration, but wouldn't mind seeing the AC info displayed over the LCD.

 

As for auto headlights...whenever I have some dumb domestic rental car and I want to be able to have the lights out while the car is on (while stalking people or getting ready to rob someone) I never can....like daytime running lights, I am anti auto headlights (although I have yet to turn off my own HID's since I bought the car...at least I have them on by choice)

 

Two things I wish my TL did (or had):

1. Front mounted Vulcan cannon to eliminate left lane squatters, with HUD target aquisition.

2. A functional radar/laser jammer.

 

as for climate control without the nav scree, you can do voice commands. they're pretty helpful and easy to learn. just go through the navi handbook. it's great!

 

 

I'm pro automatic light, but I'm anti GM style automatic lights. I hate how on GM cars their lights are always auto and you can not manually switch them off. I love the automatic lights on my Jeep it lets me have full control on how I want them to work, off, park, head or auto. I wish the TL had the style like my Jeep, which is the same style as the MDX and RL, and every other car maker with auto lights.

 

Just a small thing, but I hate that my non-navi does not have a compass.

 

I wish there was a button to have the MID displayed on Nav screen. (So I can stop my co-passengers peeking to see the info.)

 

I don't like auto headlights BUT I think Acura should have it as a switch of some form. You can shut it off if you don't like it. A driver's car gives you choices.

 

I think it's better that the least you have to use the navi screen the better..

 

I wish it had auto HL like my 98 RL does. My minor beef is I wish they radio controls were reversed so tuning was on the left. Going through XM channels is a reach while the steering wheel has volume controls.

Seriously, I like the way Acura has their auto headlight. Just hit your fob (door lock) button twice and the light turns off. Or, if you're lazy, just push once and walk away.

 

1) I wish you could play MP3's in the stereo
2) I wish that you could play DVD movies on the nav screen
3) I wish you could store more than 50 names in the phonebook

But I do love my new TL.....best car I have ever drove.
