19X8 50mm offset 245/35-19 NO PROBLEMS

As we get closer to warmer days here in the northeast and it's time for us to slap back on the rims we really want on our cars I thought I would put out this FYI.

Just put my Lowenharts wrapped with Toyo's on. The set up is 19X8 50mm offset w/ 245/35-19 and I have no rubbing issuses. Although the true test will be to load down my back seat with people, which I haven't done yet, but other than that it's a perfect fit. I do have two of my stock rims in the truck though if that makes a differance.

Good luck with any of your future rim purchases.

If in the NYC area check out Precision Installations for your install. No I don't work for them just a happy customer. The first people I've come across that know what they are talking about and use top end stuff.

Monday..(next week) the TL is getting 19" Axis Seven Mods with 245/35 FK451's..I'm comforted with the no rubbing issues..

I'm going with the staggered look... 2.5 lip fron 3.25 lip in rear (i know..FWD, but it looks cool)

I have Lowenhart BR5's in chrome. I had them from my old TLS. I was hoping they fit my 04 with the 50mm offset and they did. The rims I got a good deal on if I remember I think they were about 8ish per rim of course. I originally got Falkens 502 but they were only 235's so I sold the tires to a friend and went for Toyo's new tire the all season Proxes4 which has been great. The car looks unreal.

As soon as a get pictures I'll post.

I would like to see some pics of those 19's on the 04. I just bought a 04 (black and camel). The car fits 20's also but before i spend the money i would like to see how the 19's fit up. I'm between the LD5 and the BR5 chrome lip saten center.

Why would you mount 19" wheels on a car with ~ 12.4" brake rotors?

How much weight did they add to the vehicle (vs. the OEM set-up)?

Not enough weight that I care. I had them on my TLS, never had a problem with plus sizing by two. If anything the performance has done nothing but get better. Handling, braking, and overall speed have all improved.

Depeding on the rim, it might be close to equal with the stock 17" rims that weigh 25lbs each.

and uhh, new rims increased your overall speed? Are those the new ones with rockets attached or something?

they could have been lightweight racing rims.

And the difference would be noticeable? What does a lightweight set of 19" weigh, approx 20lbs each?

They increased my speed because Lowenharts are a better quality lighter rim even though they are bigger. They allowed me to put BETTER tires on which put more tire on the ground which improves speed. Lighter rim + better tire + more rubber = better speed

I am just waiting for spring to come around before I buy some new 19x8.5's for my car w/235/35/19. I was thinking about RH Revolution rims. See Link to view pic below

Tell me what you guys think. I think this rim would look really good on our TL's especially with the polish lip!

In looking at clearance, it appears clearance is a problem on the inside, not outside. Rolling fenders won't help.

20 inch wheels on a TL are ALL WRONG from a chassis dynamics point of view.

The A-Spec set-up represents the realistic maximum for the TL.

http://hondanews.com/forms/acura/TL/

Anything beyond that is sacrificing ride, handling and even performance for aesthetics.
