130k miles, time for a new clutch?
Hey everyone,
I bought my 04 TL 6MT w/nav in may of 2011 with 96k on it and I just clicked over 130k. I noticed in the past few days that my clutch seems to be grabbing higher up on the pedal than usual, and feels a little lighter, not really 'biting' as hard as it used to. I have to assume this is the original clutch, and I was wondering how many miles you guys are getting out of yours?
Also, my car is 95% stock, so I'm thinking just a regular OEM replacement will do. Does anyone have recommendations, good deals, etc?
Thanks.

I wouldn't replace the clutch unless it start to slipping. I have seen original clutch last as long as 250k miles on a Acura vehicle. other member had replace their clutch around 30k-100k miles depend on how previous owner drive the car.

Clutch lifespans are a real wildcard. Some people that slip the clutch all day might get 10K-20K in really rare instances, others can get over 200K. I'm assuming you have no idea how the previous owner drove it for those 96K, so it could be OK, or it could be shot. Just drive it and hope for the best.
I'd just wait until it starts slipping. But definitely keep an eye on it if you think its engaging higher.
OEM tends to be the way to go for a daily driver you don't abuse.

Thanks, guys. It's not slipping yet, but definitely grabbing up higher than usual.
It is my daily driver, and I am pretty easy on it for the most part. I don't think I'll be needing anything more than a OEM style when it comes replacement time.
Has anyone got any recommendations for an OEM replacement clutch? I've used CM, Exedy, etc in the past and they've been fine.
