'08 Type S centre console trim molding

I have a few dents and scratches on my front console trim molding(I hope I got the right name). These are the carbon fibre piece that runs along sides of the center console from the cupholders to the navi. I think they are usually aluminium but in the type S is carbon fibre.

My question is whether there is a way to fix those dents? Or anyone knows where to get a cheaper replacement. The OEM part seller wanted around $190 for each side and that is a little steep for me.

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

You could put a filler in those dents then wrap them up in 3M carbon fiber di noc.

It's actually plastic strips that have a metal coating applied in a unique pattern. The TL base has a much less textured pattern that's more subtle. You can buy the strips for about 50 dollars from acura.

I may have gotten the name of the part wrong. It is 2 "metal" pieces that runs along the sides of the console. It's the "aluminium trim" that was removed in step 1 of this thread.

Csmeance, do you know what is the part number and what specific website?

Thanks in advance!

Hope one of the links work: Parts 7 & 8. These are from the 2004 Base TL, don't know why it doesn't show the diagram for the 2008 TL-S. You can find it at www.oemacuraparts.com under Front Console item. Too expensive IMO, I ended up wet sanding the pieces and sprayed some clear coat. Not perfect but worked for me.

Yes, those are the parts I was refering too. I too think $167 for 1 side is too expensive. In my TL-S, it is textured (mesh-like), not clear. I am not sure I can wet-sand it and clear coat and make it look better.

Not sure if these pieces are the same between models. Mines had some texture also, they were peelling in some areas, thats why i ended up removing all the texture and leave it as-is (aluminum look) with a clear coat. I rather spend $334+ in food, drinks or new TL exhaust piggy bank.

Holy COW! They really jacked up the prices here! Hondapartsunlimited had the 2004 strips for 55 each a few months ago!

Anybody know if they sell these for the doors? My 2005 TL has dents in the door trim where the locks and memory seat are. They look the same as the center console ones; however, I cannot seem to find them in the diagrams. Perhaps they cannot be replaced?
