07 TL-S A/T 1/4 Mile times????????

Ok so i was just wondering what these times are does anyone know? maybe even a 0-60 time? just wondering because everyone says that the 07 TL-S A/T is as fast as a 04-06 TL M/T but at the sametime i always hear that the 02-03TL-S is as fast as a regular 3rd gen TL. but the 2nd Gen TL-S are all A/T so i dont understand and lost in the whole subject. can some one share some light on this? i would also like to know if the 3rd gen TL-S A/T is that much slower than a 3rd Gen TL-S M/T i know the loss of power is there but is it really that much that it loses so much power that a 286HP car A/T becomes as fast as a 255 TL M/T?? that just doesnt sound right, i gues si know that just because things dont sound right makes em that way but i would really like to know from people who know more about cars than me on this subject.

is a 07 TL-S A/T that slow????!!??

How can a 3.2 engine with 258 hp be as fast as the bigger 3.5 engine with 286 hp and 256 tq? They both weight almost the same....

the m/t has a much better powerband and the shorter gears make it easier to put the 258 to use

hey man, no worries, let me try to answer some of your questions!

"07 TL-S A/T is as fast as a 04-06 TL M/T"

"02-03TL-S is as fast as a regular 3rd gen TL"

both statements are pretty much true, assuming that for the 2nd statement, you are comparing between a 02-03 TL-S to a regular 3rd gen TL AT.

I know it's hard to believe that 3rd gen TL-S 5AT is as fast as 3rd gen TL 6MT because of the differences between displacement, torque and hp. But the lack of a torque converter and an extra gear ratio together help a lot. And also, the AT system is bigger and heavier than the MT system, and we all know extra weight = slower. Another factor that might affect 1/4mile and 0-60mph time is the launch. TL-S AT probably has worst tires than a stock TL 6MT, so traction might be less.

Hope I answered your questions.
