Hey guys,
I've been emailing back and forth with the dealer in Oregon City for a few days on this car asking about regular stuff like tire and brake life, the condition of the underbody for signs of rust, fluids, belts, etc. Since I live in Phoenix and can't just casually go there to inspect the car myself I asked if they could take it to a nearby Acura dealer to have a pre-sale inspection done and they said it would be OK.
They're asking $18,643 and I'm thinking of offering $17,250 out the door. Is this a good offer? Any other suggestions from any of you guys that have bought from a dealer long distance?
I'm planning on renting a car and driving up there with a friend next Friday afternoon, getting there Saturday morning and hopefully getting back Snday morning.
This is the link for the car.

OP, I live in WA State, about 300 miles from this dealership... I communicated with the dealer for a few days and he sent me pictures and a walk around video of the car.. PM me if you want me to send you these..
As for price, he basically didn't have any interest in budging from the price.. Said he "might be able to save me a few hundred dollars." I offered about 16500, but that was about a week ago.

That price is pretty good compared to NADA so it isn't lame. If the dealer wants to hang on to it for a while to get that price it isn't lame, it is smart business. Plus, you haven't a clue what that car cost the dealer. No, I'm not a dealer but I understand the business, it isn't buy high and sell low.
^^ exactly, plus it seems like most dealerships now list their internet prices as no haggle. So sometimes when you see a vehicle listed online at a dealer it seems that more often than not they don't negotiate too far away from that price.
