06 TL Navi auto......

So my sister in law has a TL as well, her's is an '06 Red ( kind of burgundy), tan interior with wood trim, auto, NAVI, back up sensors, Pirelli's P Zeros on stock rims, 14k, Mobil 1.............but a few sap droppings as she parked her vehicle under white pines...
Now she want's a RDX but the dealer wants to give her for a trade only 27k, personally I can spend a good day detailing her vehicle an possibly get most of the imperfections off but what do you think, is that a low price for a fairly new car with low mileage?....and the dealer asked why did she change her tires and they would like the Michelins back.....but why? they suck...anyway I just thought I post this thread and see what you guys think...
BTW she is moving from NJ to MA and the dealer we chose to deal with was Shaeller in Manchester where I bought my 2 previous cars....

HEK...

On the surface it seems as though it's quite a low price, as dealer retail for the '06 14k, nav, would be around $31,000 according to KBB, but not being able to see the vehicle's condition it's difficult to make a qualified guess. The body is probably the most important part of any car for resale, as most that would purchase an '06 TL, or any used vehicle in the $25/30,000 range would want it to be pristine. If imperfections cannot be removed, either lower price, or repainting would be necessary, which is quite expensive for quality work. Would the Acura dealer even want to be involved in resale of such a vehicle, probably not, and they would just wholesale the car.

My suggestion would be the do the full detail first, then try another Acura dealer. Clean it up, and if the paint cannot be restored to new condition, take it to the dealer in the rain for a trade in value.

She'll just love it here in the Garden State!
