if you're looking for performance, the g35's quicker. i'm fully bolted on and i only pulled on an auto g35 by half a car length. a win's a win though, right?! lol

interesting
I was browsing Car and Driver reviews last night looking for the 0-60 of the TL and ended up reading a bunch of reviews on many cars, but the interesting thing was that the TL had a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds which was as fast or faster than the 08 Accord V6 Coupe and the G35, but if you look at the 0-100 times, the TL is the slowest. Looks like there really is no replacement for displacement.

Also take into consideration the cost of maintenance. The TL uses a timing belt and it needs periodic valve adjustments. Most cars don't need this. This could save you about $1900 every 100k miles.

One on the right for me
I chose the TL because I needed 4 doors. Otherwise I would have bought the G35. I drive my friends coupe all the time and believe it is a much more fun car to drive around in. Plus I like rear drive.

Chapter Leader (Southern Region)
Before the G37, there was a 4G G35S sedan.. 13" rotors, new VQ35HR engine + the fit & finish was perfect.. If I had the money I would've bought it but the budget was tight at the time.. the next year the G37 came out.

i had the same question before i bought my TL, was so hot for G35 that time because of the exhaust sound, test drive several G35 and TL and eventually settled down with the TL, not because TL is whole lot better, but if I could choose again I would prob still pick TL, honestly I really think TL has a better interior consider both are fully loaded, just a touch screen Nav is a win win, and exterior? both are awesome, to me i really feel G35 is more like a chick magnet, I like TL cuz it gives me comfort and luxury and better MPG.....well just my 2 cents!!~!

hey. first it depends what you need in a car. hands down the G35 is the better performing car. it will out perform the TL on the road, however the TL is not far behind the G35 and the TL is far more reliable. the TL gets better gas mileage, the engine is cheaper to maintain, and the TL's interior is stylish and good quality. because of the Tl being front wheel drive and poor gear ratios the TL Unfortunately have a hard time out performing the G35. The G35 is fun to drive and has lots of power, unfortunately it is a gas guzzler. my cousin bought one new and she gets 14MPG city and 20Highway, even though the sticker says otherwise. the biggest complaint of the G35 is the bad gas mileage. the G35 also comes with its engine problems, like leaks, timing belt tensioners, and oil consumption. I chose the TL over the G35, because of reliability and fuel consumption. I sacrificed a little peformance but I love my TL, it will still give the G35 a run for it's money.

i was considering a 4dr g35 or g37 but it was out of price range for the updated sedan with the chassis and a lot of other revisions. The g35 coupe to me is a douchebags car but i still had it in consideration. TL had much nicer shifting feel
also manual tl puts .93 while g35 is .90 lol only .3
I never got to drive a g35 hard so I cannot compare to the TL in that aspect
I don't regret getting the TL and I love her very much =)

It's weird how many people come down to the TL vs. G, because they seem so different. However - I was in the same boat.
I chose the TL mainly due to the tight handling in the test drive, functionality/space, insurance saver, and not wanting RWD.

the overexplainer
but also the TL's interior is worlds better than the G35's. Except the seats.
