05 TL Retains Memory Settings

After battery is disconnected, how does the TL retain its settings (ie. seats, mirrors..)

you have to manually move the seat and mirror then teach the memory where is the current seat and mirror position.

after the battery is reconnected the previous settings are still stored, how?.

No you will have to reteach the new position.

Without getting too technical, every time you set a new position the module rewrites the code to remember the position.

BIOS settings are stored with CMOS, which is run off a small battery.
