'05 TL Front License Plate Installation
All, I got a tic in california for not having the front licence plate installed. Was trying to fix that over the weekend, I found the plate and the black plastic shell thing that the plate is supposed to go on BUT I can't find the screws.
Can anyone please let me know what type of screws./size (or if there are any specific names) I need, where to get? My husband isn't sure either so if possible, please help me by being real specific so I can go find it. I am unsure if I should go to the dealers as I am guessing that they may charge an arm/leg just for the screws...
Tks...

Hey there,
You'll need two screws that go into the bumper to attach the license plate holder.
Just go to the dealer and ask for them.
I usually get misc screws and bolts for free from my dealer!
If they do charge you, it'll probably be like 3$ for the screws, which is PROBABLY more expensive than a hardware store, BUT not an arm and a leg.
Heck, it's cheaper than a meal at McDonalds.

however, these screws are hidden so random ones should work just fine, as long as they have coarse thread, since these are digging into plastic
but if you want OEM:

Sheesh, another poor sap in California in trouble for petty offenses. How do you Cali folk deal with it? Honestly, California is the "North Korea" of the US. So many damn restrictions, penalties and rules for everything under the sun.
But yeah, two coarse thread screws and the license plate holder. You can mount the plate without the holder, but you'd have to either drill new holes for the plate, or screw into the bumper (which would look like crap if you removed the plate). I'd recommend getting the plate holder at the dealer. I'm sure they have it for a reasonable price.

I think I still have my old plate holder and screws. I don't need it since I have a motorize hide away license plate. I will look for it if you want it.
