my 05 rsx was stolen almost a month ago and has still not been found so next week ill be shopping for a tl.
i want a 05/06 with 6sp manual. i know its hard to find a manual in a tl so my question is, since i love driving manual trannies, how happy do you think i would be with an auto sport shifter. i drove one befor as a loaner and was quite impressed with the torque on downshifting, but i just love the feel of being in control of the gears and that extra power you get out of the drivetrain of a manual tranny.
how much faster is an 06 6sp tl vs an 06 auto?
ill be doing the routine upgrades, cai first, tires, then a 1.5"ish drop, pulleys, the small stuff.
all i know is my rsx-s with only cai, tires, and tb bypass was running mid to low 14's on a good day, and i want something the same or a little faster.
ive read a post about reducing the weight on the tl by removing the engine covers and the trunk undercover.
would an 05-08 auto tl with injen/aem cai with a little weight reduction run as fast as lets say 14.5 in 1/4 mileusing sport shift?
or should i just be patient and find what i want in an 6sp manuel?

6MT base with bolt ons is a 14 flat car all day if you can get it to launch. The 5AT will generally be 4-5 tenths slower, all else being equal.
