My buddy has this 95 RX7 and has been boasting how he could put lengths on me easily, I finally get to run him from a roll and boy was he surprised. First run, we start both in 1st gear, I did the 3 honks and we are off! I spun first gear all the way to 3rd, by the time I got into 3rd my RPM's dropped down to around 4500. By the time I was able to get back into Vtec range, he was side by side with me. I mis-shifted 4th gear and that was the race . Second run, We both started in 2nd gear at around 25 mph. I honked 3 times and we are going. I started to pull slightly to gain about 3/4 car length when I shifted to 3rd, it looked like he was catching up until he shifted gears, which is when I was able to beat him by about a full car length. Boy the look on his face was priceless, wish I could have caught that on camera..

So you spun all the way to 60 in a stock TL?

 

Yes I did, I still have the crappy stock michelins on it. VSA was off.
