04 TL MT vs 08-09 Cobalt SS/TC

Very impressed by both cars in this race.

Him: 14 Psi - Alone
Me: SRI - Passenger

Roll race at about 40mph in 2nd gear, he punched first...stay all 2nd and start of the 3rd gear beside him and then he start pulling at end of 3rd a good car and pull another half in the middle of 4th gear where he stopped...

Those Cobalt have long gears, he could reach 100mph in 3rd where he pulled a good car on me in the race. I am impressed, I thought it was the SuperCharged but couldn't hear the sweet noise and then realized it was the TurboCharged...

Drop the down the windows on the highway and start chatting and tells me his running 14lbs of boost, I don't know if it's stock but the stock specs are 260 HP @ 5300 RPM - 260 Torque @ 2000 RPM and weights 2975 LBS, 500 lbs lighter than our TL's. We punch it again in 3rd gear with the same result, as soon as I was engaging 4th gear he would pulled a car...I wish I could shift our gears a bit higher, 7000 RPM is definitely not enough for our cars or just change the ratio of 4th gear and put it shorter. Hehe I love my MT TL.

Don't sleep on them...

There are plenty of the turbo Cobalts trapping 101-103 and seeing high 13's to very low 14's. The older supercharged versions were hitting 98-99MPH traps and running low 14's.

With your 6MT driven properly Im sure you are capable of 98-99MPH so your results sound about right, you did a good job staying on him

Nice run! Quick question...besides getting a SC, would basic bolt on mods improve the TL's (manual) 4th gear? Like the OP said, 4th gear is when the Cobalt pulled away.

What we need is higher RPM, the car can handle 7500 RPM. Hondata could make one...

Hondata isn't going to make one..there have been countless attempts made by so many people (me included) and no love. I didn't even get an email response when I requested it. There is a huge demand, I just don't think they want to spend the time/money because they feel there won't be sufficient gains. Barking up the Hondata tree is not going to work for us J series

I do have faith that someone, somewhere, will do something with the J series and make a lot of power.
