04 TL Automatic 45,000 miles

I just checked my car Transmission fluid and its brown but still full. Its probably time to change my fluid ,huh? I thought you can go about 60,000 miles before changing the fluid?

The manual states that the fluid should only need changing at 60k miles under the most severe of driving conditions; otherwise, the MID should indicate when it's time.

On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to call the stealership service department and ask for their opinion.

The weakest link is the Honda/Acura A/T, I have changed mine every 20k. This is on an 04 w/50k. Have not had a problems, same with my 97 Accord w/225k, still shifting smooth..

Ok, I'm going to get my tranny fluid changed. I went to Mobile 1 and one of the techs said they perform a flush that costs $89.99. When I asked about a simple drain they said they dont recommend it on this type of car. I said to myself, "yeah right." Is he trying to get me to purchase something I don't really need and is a simple drain sufficient enough. It's cheaper and more cost effective. Thanks for your advice

You don't need a flush, just a simple drain and refill is ok. Try to change yours every 20k and you will be ok.
My WDP has 44,500 miles, I've done 2 tranny fluid drain/refill so far and about to do the 3rd soon

1st - 18,500
2nd - 27,000 when I installed the Supercharger
3rd - soon

I change mine every 30K. If you do a drain/refill your still leaving some fluid in there. But if you do it every 30K you shouldn't need to "flush" it.
