04 TL 235k miles what next?

So my 04 TL had 235k miles and is having handling issues that no one can figure out. Replaced Rack, struts sway bar links and bushing and still feels like mush. So i am thinking its time to get a new car.

With how god the TL has been to me and all other cars i have looked at (not Acura) im giving up on looks so i figured maybe ill stick with what works and get an Acura again.

Thoughts on the new RLX? How reliable will it be? I got one of the first thousand 04TL's in 03 and it served me well, or should i go with the new TL's?

Thoughts suggestions?

Well the first question is do you want to troubleshoot on here to find out whats happening. Mushy handling can be a number of things. The primary factor being the tires. If you want to trouble shoot we can get into that.

Personally I like the RLX. I feel like the SHAWD would be a better buy given the 377hp promise and similar tech being used in the NSX. The new TL's are good but if its the SHAWD be prepared for very little trunk space. I like the TL since its easy to tune it a little and make it a beautiful looking car that's a lot of fun to drive if you know how to extract its performance.

I would be very interested in knowing what it is and troubleshooting, but i have had this issues for almost 75k and 3 sets of tires with little to no difference plus the things i mentioned above. Acura has looked and several mechanics with no answer. I'm just lost and have basically given up.

Whats particularly strange is i replaced an Axel recently and it feels worse, almost like i am dragging something and I get a slight noise from the front. Ill be putting a new set of tires on in a few days so i can better tell how it does, but this has been ongoing for quite some time.

You will see in some of my other posts i was able to figure out some issues, but never really quite fixing the handling/feel issue.

So if i am getting a less than responsive feel (mushy), maybe a slight drift when driving and I have replaced tires, axils, struts, bushings, sway bar links what might it be?

I would suggest starting with a detailed examination of all the bushings in the car. Every single component. Start with engine and transmission mounts, then move to lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends.

Does the shaking happen under throttle or braking?
What tires are you buying? All weather's or summer or winter? Where do you get your alignment done and do they give you readings?
How long have you been running on the same wheels? Also what wheels are they? And what speed does the shaking come at.

Also are you the original owner and is there any history of accidents?

Actually i solved the vibration/shaking. it was the axil, its the flat tire noise at any speed. Sounds like wowowowowow I guess. lol

Original owner, new nokenan all weather tires, new engine and transmission mounts. Lower bushings and control arm bushings, tie rod ends ether look good or have been replaced.

Original TL rims, alinement was just done by a good trustworthy shop, almost perfect.

I did drive over a curb and blew a tire lat year but replaced all i needed to. It seems to have started when I replaced the axil.

So i took it to my local shop to confirm my suspicion it was a wheel baring and its confirmed that's what it is. Hopefully this will be the last fix for a while once i get it done.

Sweet. Should be relatively inexpensive to fix! Good luck!
