04-08 TL power folding mirrors?
Just came across this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
looks like someone bought a set. Wonder if they are on here? Hopefully they will see this and make post if they havent alrdy.
i know the RL mirror is pictured but i emailed them and they assured me its for the TL, they just used a RL pic. Maybe useless for some but i have a tight garage and always have to shimmy around the mirror. I may sell mine and try these out... unless someone else wants to beat me to it.

considering the much increased price point on the TL now, ones with AWD and loaded are between 40-42k dollars, they really should consider making things like power folding mirrors standard equipment, also heated steering wheel, rear heated seats, heated and cooled front seats, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, etc would be really nice standard equipment too!!

I'm kinda skeptical about the quality of the mirrors in that auction. The OEM mirrors require a bit of effort to pull them in...there would have to be some pretty powerful motors to pull them in smoothly.

Yeah i would think the motor would need to be strong... i emailed the seller and they claim its 100% oem mirror for the 07-08 tl. So i then said well i dont need a replacement mirror, i just need the motor kit or what not and ill install it.
He replied with the mirror is complicated to take apart blah blah haha! I took them apart and then took to a body shop to have painted to match my car bcuz i didnt want any old paint to show. i know how to take apart. I didnt ask how dif it was i said sell me the motor kit and ill do the rest. They wont just sell that. yet they will take the time to rip apart a mirror to install the motor. i dunno if im going to mess with it. something just doesnt seem right.

This post again. Does it makes sense to anyone that these power-folding signal mirrors found primarily in the overseas Asian market are cheaper than manual-folding mirrors sold OEM in the US? All wires ready to be tapped into the existing electrical of turn signals. That's all the description mentions. Nothing about instructions being provided to hook up the folding function. If a brave soul wants to be the guinea, more power to ya. For me, I couldn't give them my consideration w/o a video of them in action......somewhere in America.

i forgot the dude who first did this but theres a video of his TL with folding mirrors....about 3 years ago. i believe he used JDM mirrors motors from an accord....along with the bcm module to make them work properly

Hey bzyrice... any more info on the tl with bmw mirrors?
Now 2 sets of the ebay mirrors have sold. Wonder if anyone here has bought?? Would be nice to see these working and know the quality. The seller REFUSES to answer me on a video of these working etc so im not sure that im going to do this. Just too much money to invest w/o more info

if there is one thing i could change in the 3rd gen tl, it's having power folding mirrors. that's how bad i want them. im not willing to try this tho.
i know there is a tl here with power folding mirrors. it's that white TL with some serious body work and other mods done to it. what's his name again? starts with an E

It seems like a safe bet that this guy is Japanese and, if his eBay advertisement is any indication, probably doesn't have total command of the English language. Can anyone on this board ask him for details in his native tongue?
I'd also love to know, if this is legit, how tough it would be to change it to a button input instead of just signal on/off... my garage door is tight and the whole reason to perform this upgrade would be so I could get in and out easier (why yes, that is what she said).

* Ready to be plug & play with proper connection to the existing electrical. With auto-folding switch after installation:
The mirrors fold-up when you lock the car door.
They open automatically when you turn on the engine in the car.
* Instruction is included.

"The mirrors came out last month on ebay as soon i saw them i jumped on it". The 3rd Gen platform is discontinued and these are just now hitting the market? Sounds like he didn't do any kind of real research on them. And now the buyer wants more money for parts and information needed to make the feature described in the listing operational? That's like paying for a Double Whopper, they give you a single, then tell you it's extra for the second patty. The information on "what wires do what" should be free at least.
Do the mirrors have any kind of foreign writing on them because these are not commercially available in the US. Your best bet is to take them to a local Acura dealer and have them check it against what they have in the back. If the wiring harness is completely the same w/o any extra wires, you may have gotten gipped. Or if you're technically inclined, take a 12v power source to the wires and see if it moves.
I would really forgo "waiting" to get all the parts and do some more investigating while you still have that grace period of returning them. Keep them too long and they may not take them back.

in Teemans thread He doesn't want to do it. He's waiting to do all mods at once....he won't even take pictures of it.
Encourage him to post pictures/install!

Any news on this yet? I'm thinking about jumping in and being the guinea pig. I am first working out his return policy on the listing - it says return for shipping price only.. hrm.. still working with the guy trying to get details - will keep you all posted.
